The US shifted its policy today, saying it is now willing to meet one on one with North Korea if that is helpful to bring Pyongyang back to the nuclear negotiations.

US envoy Stephen Bosworth got the green light from the other members of the 6-party talks, negotiations to rid Pyongyang of its nuclear program, during meetings in the region in recent days.

Obama, how is that chamge working out for you?

This is absolute proof of success of Obama Foreign Policy. The Norks will use up all of their nuclear fuel proving how stupid he is.

This was expected. They were on extremely good behavior for four weeks in the run up to the recent Japanese lower house elections.

To be aggressive could have solidified more seats for the Conservative LDP party; but by playing nice guys, they could advance the cause of the Center-Left DJP and Socialist Party which swept to power.

Now that their soul mates are in power in Tokyo, they will rever to these threats and provocative, hard ball tactcs.

They did the whole sme thing throughout the Autumn elections of 2008, until Obama won, and then really ramped up the trouble making.

Notice a pattern??? They are playing carrott and sticks, too. Expect a lot of nasty sticks in the next several months. They know with Obama and Hatoyama in the saddle, they can be intimidated and jacked around like nothing else.

So, the Norks will test a bomb. In thier backyard. And China’s doorstep.

The Norks can’t throw a nuke very far or even at all.

WHy does everyone have their knickers in a twist.

The ‘test’ is most likely a sales pitch for a bomb, materials or expertiese to make one or all three - best worry about WHO is watching, rather than the bomb itself.

But, that’s just me.

Let’s cut the guy some slack. After all, he’s moving as quickly as possible to ensure that all Americans have access to government-run health care: surely this will come in handy in the aftermath of an NK nuclear strike!

Who is leading whom with the carrot and sticks?

The US, under BOTH Bush and Obama, has been dropping what little sticks we have had left, for over four years straight now. Now the pace is really picking up.

I forgot. Plus, I guess we get lots of carbon credits per 100,000 killed in the blast.

“I guess we get lots of carbon credits per 100,000 killed in the blast.”

SHHHHHHHHH! Don’t say that too loud. I fear this may be Obama’s secret plan for bankrolling health reform: for everyone who dies prematurely under government-run health care, Uncle Sam will claim a carbon credit for any projected future lifetime carbon use averted from their dying early.
