Obama: Status Quo no Solution on Health Care
NBC New York ^ | 9/12/09

Posted on 09/12/2009 1:33:36 PM PDT by nickcarraway

President Obama took his health care pitch to Minneapolis, Minnesota Saturday where he sought to rally support for his overhaul and pledged to "call out" critics who he accused of spreading misinformation. Obama also said he will not waste time with those who think "that it's better politics to kill this plan than improve it." He said he could "not accept the status quo as a solution. Not this time. Not now."

Earlier, Obama said in his weekly address he'd work to ensure that health care would be provided to any and all Americans in need of medical attention -- and that more and more families across the country were losing access to affordable services. "It's an anxiety that's keeping more and more Americans awake at night," Obama said. The president predicted that nearly half of all Americans under 65 years old will lose their health care coverage at some point within the next two years, citing statistics that showed about six million Americans lost their access to care over the past year.

Obama said he wouldn't let that future happen -- and that his health care bill would provide access to all Americans.

"In the United States of America, no one should have to worry that they'll go without health insurance," he said. "Not for one year, not for one month, and not for one day. And once I sign my plan into law, they won't."

Maintaining the status quo, at a minimum, is the duty of anybody who wants to preserve freedom.

And the clear and present danger to freedom is the Democrat Party.

I agree 100% that the status quo is not a solution. Only problem though, is that its alot of what 'rats have done over the years to create this status quo, for the purpose of creating the 'crisis' that is now being used to nationalize health care.

Its the real solutions of tort reform and deregulation and allowing health insurance to cross state lines that the 'rats won't allow, thus cementing the status quo.

My question is : If Medicare is going to go broke, and we’re going to shift hundreds of billions out of Medicare, and we’re allegedly going to save so much money by cutting waste fraud and abuse, how does this combination improve the finances of Medicare? It sounds like the “savings” by cutting waste and fraud are balanced by shifting money from Medicare to cover the other costs in the public option.

I know there are many details I’m missing, however, it seems that there’s no way to pay for expanded healthcare for all the uninsured, subsidize those who won’t be able to afford the required health insurace, balance the budget of Medicare as a stand alone entity, and do all this without raising taxes.

And all this is on top of trillion dollar deficits as far as the eye can see. The same Democrats/liberals who were oh so outraged at Bush era deficits in the hundreds of billions don’t even bat an eye at trillion dollar deficits now.

Probably Democrat deficits don’t count because good Democrats “invest” the money in education, health care, and the politically correct causes such as global warming. Whereas Republicans give money to Halliburton and spend money on wars.

The liar strikes again.

Repubs are crying for tort reform, not status quo.

He knows it. He just loves to lie.

Obama: Status Quo no Solution on Health Care

Still campaigning...

CHANGE!

He reminds me of the preacher in that movie "From Dusk 'Til Dawn" when he stated to the head crook.."You are so stupid you don't even know when you have won".

The only escape from government ‘solutions’ is to withdraw from government solutions. Gradual withdrawal is the only solution to otherwise fatal addictions. Reps and Dems, if healthcare ‘reform’ is passed, are only compromising on the final form of the fatal hemlock to be administered. In the end, ‘non-profit co-ops’ are just as fatal as a ‘public option’ to the greatest private healthcare enterprises in history.

At a time when MD specialist training numbers have been reduced by 25% since 2000 by govt. policy, current administration advisors have been quoted as anticipating that up to 90% of private practice specialists will not be needed if the ‘public option’ is fully implemented....WHAT SAVINGS!! When and if that occurs, picking a doctor will not mean that access will be practical or even meaningful to the expectations of patients.

NO analysis of what the impact of healthcare reform will be has been done or will be done. Think about it. The administration and Congress are asking us to jump off a cliff. There is no way to pay for Medicare now, and expanding govts. role and expense in healthcare is not competent, ethical or desirable...it is only about increased, centralized, power and control, period.

The result will not be what people expect, unless they know and read history about socialist experiences in ‘fundamentally’ changing the way nations operate.

"pledged to "call out" critics who he accused of spreading misinformation. "

Then, this spineless maroon hops on Air Force 1 and runs like hell from the big Tea Party in D.C., and then huffs & puffs about calling someone out...for what, another private "beer summit"? Sarah Palin ain't even afraid of Zero, and she's a girl

Personally, I would love to see him in a healthcare "debate" with, Palin, or Beck, or Hannity, or even Rush...they would hand him his lunch in an enviromentally safe paper sack...nuts included.

Any "misinformation" that has been spread, is based solely on the propaganda and miscalculations put out by the Kenyan himself...or one of his "CZARS". His own CBO has said that the takeover of healthcare was unsubstainable, for cryin' out loud.

This "Metro" president is not AlCapone...he just plays one on TV. He just doesn't have the gravitas to be the "tough guy" he would like us all to believe.

Like any bully, he's going to push people only as far as they let him...and they're starting to push back in droves. They may not get him evicted from the White House, but they can sure make him about as effective as a Lame Duck...especially after 2010.

By then, there will be enough scandal and corruption from his administration and support groups like ACORN that democrats will be afraid to claim their party affiliation in public.

I've been worried about America, but I'm feeling better now..."America's chickens are coming home to roost"...and they're all laying big eggs in obama's hen house.

The “Status Quo” might need a little tweaking but it does not need a government take over! Hands off of my body.
