WASHINGTON Tens of thousands of protesters fed up with government spending marched to the U.S. Capitol on Saturday, showing their disdain for the president's health care plan with slogans such as "Obamacare makes me sick" and "I'm not your ATM."
The line of protesters clogged several blocks near the Capitol, according to the D.C. Homeland Security and Emergency Management Agency. Demonstrators chanted "enough, enough" and "We the People." Others yelled "You lie, you lie!" and "Pelosi has to go," referring to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif.
Throngs of people waved U.S. flags and held signs reading "Go Green Recycle Congress" and "Obama Bin Lyin.'" Men wore colonial costumes as they listened to speakers who warned of "judgment day" Election Day 2010.

You just KNEW they’d cover it this way instead of portraying them for the American Loving New Patriots that they truly are.
AP is a bunch of JERKS.

How to distinguish Liberty from Tryanny:
| Liberty | "Soft" Tyranny | |
| 1 | Rights are inherent in, and unalienable from, individuals | Rights are granted/rescinded by the majority through the government |
| 2 | Fundamental rights are life, liberty, and property (absence of coercion) | Fundamental rights are food, housing, and healthcare (absence of necessity) |
| 3 | Property is owned by individuals who make decisions as to its use, improvement, and transfer | Property is owned by 'the public' with government officials making decisions as to its use, improvement, and transfer |
| 4 | Government exists to protect the rights of individuals | Government exists to plan and direct the resources of society |
| 5 | Government authority is decentralized in a federal system with limited and enumerated powers | Government authority is centralized in a national system with broad and necessarily intrusive powers |
| 6 | Government action is prescribed by rules fixed and announced beforehand | Government action is arbitrary and at the descretion of "czars" and planning boards |
| 7 | Economic activity is driven by a large number of small entities interacting according to simple rules | Economic activity is driven by a small number of large entities operating within the constraints of complex regulations |
| 8 | Effective innovation results from contrarian thinking, individual initiative, and the voluntary exchange of property | Efficient implementation of government planning requires conformity of opinion, collective action, and the coerced transfer of property |
| 9 | Standards of living for the many increase permanently as they utilize improved products and services conceived by the few | Standards of living for the many increase temporarily as they utilize property redistributed from the few |
| 10 | Altruism is using one's own resources in concrete acts to help specific individuals | Altruism is obligating the resources of others for broad-brush programs to help mankind in the abstract |
Rights exists solely as a way to fairly decide whose will shall prevail in cases where two or more people disagree. They do not exist for the purpose of enslaving one person for the benefit of another (e.g., the "right" to free medical care.)
Liberty is the right to do whatever does not infringe the rights of others. Rights empower you to help yourself, free from interference by others.
Tyranny makes you a serf to be used by the elite to further their own power. Once upon a time, the nobility used religion to convince the serfs they had to serve the nobility. Modernly, the elite use good people's feelings of altruism to convince them to enslave both themselves and their neighbors. It's basically the same con game, just using a more sophisticated hook.
Okay, looks like the MSM is gonna stick to that “tens of thousands” number. They are wrong. We know there were many, many more than that there. I was there, and I know. They can say what they want. We know the truth.

Oh PLUHEEZZZZ......
How about the roads were shut down from our Nations Capitol ALL THE WAY TO THE WASHINGTON MONUMENT!!!
I do believe that that is a TWO mile stretch. I could be wrong and please correct me if I am.
But man, what a bunch of crap reporting.
The UK Press, using the numbers given to them by the D.C. Homeland Security and Emergency Management Agency reported that the crowd was close to 2 million people.
While I think this number is a bit overestimated I do believe that we had numbers that exceeded one million.

I probably shouldn't post this but these people have no idea how close they came to a very unpleasant afternoon. They were marching along being very loud and offensive. When they passed by where I was standing, there were about 20 guys (10 on either side of the street) and we all started kind of looking at each other. One guy started moving out in the front of the group but then stepped back. Nothing was said but it was like we all just decided it wasn't worth it. For a second, though, it almost went the other way.
So what is the true numbers. Was it Tens of thousands of people or 2 million people?
Same thing happened when about four of them came our way.
They were greeted with a very large volume of BOOOs and were followed by about 30 Tea Party protesters showing signs of their own but were allowed to carry on and in the end we all determined that it just wasn't worth it to "GIVE" them and the media the trouble they were looking for.
Two things they’ve got wrong in this article: It wasn’t JUST about the Healthcare Debate, it was ALSO about a great many other issues as well — they are trying to minimize the impact of this showing and want to make it appear that if Obama backs down over healthcare, all is roses with the people who protested.
Speaking of those who protested, the amount of people listed in the article is wrong as well. Those really are “conservative” numbers as in — there is no way this was “tens of thousands”. If we compared photos of past events I think you would see it was much larger than those...
Not that I’m surprised, mind you...
Besides those two glaring mistakes, it was a decent article.
One day we're gonna hafta do something about those tools.
Looks more like hundreds of thousands.
Remember the “Million Mom March” and how the MSM waaaaaaay overestimated the number of people?
And remember how much more media coverage it got?

Yes, he faced them down all right, by bravely, bravely, running way from DC. Sir Robin would approve.
I can hardly wait until Monday when Glen and Rush give their take on today.
Looks to me like the Union and the Johnny Rebs have come together. Glad to see it.
It's one mile between the two . . . . . .
Stating inaccuracies of the count is there way of trying to undermine the effect. Anyway, they are not fooling anyone but themselves (still drinking the koolaid). The news viewership really kinda of tells it all. I am waiting for FNC on Monday to give the accurate count in all broadcasts.
Yeah, 999,999
However, how many people can fit onto a street that is what? 40? 50? feet across and a mile long? Times that by two: Independence and Constitution Avenues and you have a VERY LARGE number.
Not including the numbers of people on the Capitol Grounds.
These lefties never think things through, do they.
Wife and I are in this picture (somewhere; and if that’s thousands, someone from the government schools flunked math.
There were announcements that 450 buses made the trip; people flew, drove and took the train this morning and that there over 1 million people there. What isn’t shown here is the parking lot to the right of the Capitol and jammed with people. We were near the trees on the left. We got there and we thought we were far enough back. We weren’t.
Somebody get a good count, please.
I couldn't believe the number of people. The pictures do not show the thousands that were herded on either side of the capitol (under the trees) before opening up the mall space. People just kept coming and coming and coming. It was a privilege to be surrounded by such wonderful Americans!
I remember hearing announcements that the crowds of people needed to move off the streets because emergency vehicles could not pass. All I could think was how and to where, it was shoulder to sholder people everywhere.
sp = shoulder
Now. We know the enemy, THE NEO-MARXIST DEMOCRAT LEFT, what is another enemy, just as deadly, just as destructive, which is an enemy from within IE...
IF WE TRUST OR ALLOW TO USURP JOHNNY COME LATELY HASBEENS AND LIMP WRISTED SELLOUTS LIKE JOHN MCJERKOFF, TRENT (IDIOT) LOTT, NUTE GINGRCH, HUCKABEE, AND OTHER LIKE PLAY ALONG TO GET ALONG NITWITS THAT DON’T UNDERSTAND THE TRUE NATURE OF THE ENEMY, WHAT HAS BEEN STARTED ***WILL***BE***DESTROYED***.
I YELL FOR A DAMN GOOD REASON.
Yep and we are true racists to the point of driving the president to go to Minnesota out of fear to try and regain their support in politically "RED" /s country.
Bump
If a street is 60 feet wide, and you allow 4 square feet per person, which seems pretty packed, it’s about 79,200 people per mile of street.
Still a very nice turnout don't you think?
Were there many Don’s Jons? The lines must have been brutal.
Heck yes, awesome. Wish I could have been there!
Tens of thousands! Woohoo!
The roads were shut off, but the crowd only extended to the Museum of Art. There was a biking event and a carnival farther down the mall. Definetly a couple hundred thousand, at least
The list, ping
