America Goes to Washington: I was wrong about the Tea Party Movement
Pajamas Media ^ | September 12th, 2009 7:30 pm | Roger L. Simon

Posted on 09/13/2009 5:35:07 AM PDT by fiodora

Boy, was I wrong. I can remember telling Glenn Reynolds during CPAC that these Tea Party demonstrations were rinky-dink and going nowhere. Barely more than a half-year later, they’re putting two million people on the Washington Mall. Wow! If I were Obama & Co., I’d be afraid, I’d be very afraid.

And no doubt they are. They bobbled the ball big time and I wouldn’t be surprised if heads are going to start to roll – and not just the obvious (and relatively inconsequential) ones like Van Jones. Rahm Emanuel and David Axelrod are going to be looking at each other like nervous apparatchiks in the Politburo because someone is going to have take the bullet for the disaster they have wrought. Emanuel is looking like a particular dummy right now for opening his mouth about not missing a good crisis. It is from idiotic statements like that unread stimulus bills get passed or giant healthcare legislation proffered without anyone knowing the contents, not even (and maybe especially) the President.

No wonder the public is outraged. They have a perfect right to be.

One other note from an old protestor. When I made that statement to Glenn those many months back, I did it with the supposed authority of someone who had been at a lot of demonstrations when on the left. I can remember a couple that might have been nearly this big (not sure, really). But I can’t remember anything this size that was entirely non-violent. That’s rather miraculous for a two-million person demonstration and deserves the highest praise, though I doubt the mainstream media will say much. They’re still digesting how much they’re despised.

I do have one minute criticism. The person carrying the Obama/Hitler poster should have his/her wrist slapped. Hitler comparisons (except perhaps in the case of Ahmadinejad) are odious, stupid and insulting to the people murdered by Hitler. Enough.

There are differences between what happened in China and what is happening here. Just to mention a few
1)We have a history of freedom and individualism they never had.
2)We have guiding documents (under threat in Public education)
3)We have the second amendment and plenty of ammunition and...
4) In God we trust....

Obama and his minions will be defeated in November 2010.

A direct quote from SEIU bylaws.

We must organize unorganized Healthcare workers, extending to them the gains of unionism while securing control over the Healthcare industry.

SEIU bylaws pdf

Put that together with ACORN hatred and lust for power and you have a dangerous situation. They lust for control as a means of punishing all who ever have or ever will oppose them.

Good point. I do think Rahm knows what he’s doing. The rest of the czars are absolutely commie hacks, boobs, or left-wing loonies like Sunstein.

Sorry, I don’t see Pelosi acting “scared” in the slightest. I don’t see OH gov. Ted Strickland acting scared. I don’t see any of these un-apologetic a-holes acting scared.

You're not getting it. Sure, they'll lose some seats in 2010. What, you think 10? 20? Whoo-hoo. So they still have a majority. But say they lose 100. It's not veto-proof. So nothing will be undone.

And remember, we're just talking "seats," not conservatives. If you have 100 seats change hands, and 30 of them are RINOS, effectively you haven't had a change at all.

As for the ammunition, the goal is to effect a quiet and complete revolution before anyone figures out that they need to load up.

And as for God, He never said He'd protect us. He said the same to us that He did to Israel, which is that as long as we were obedient, we were safe.

I think its Horowitz who says that they’re so busy lusting after the ideal that they can’t see their failures.

As grandmother used to say “Oh my stars”!

This, from Roger Simon? Many of us are startled by how many in the MSM are startled...but it’s not just a hackneyed idea that they need to get out of the beltway more..it’s a fact. They simply are incapable of comprehending who and what is America beyond their leftist echo chamber.

Welcome to the real world, Mr. Simon- look around- you may yet see it anew.

Obozo says that if his health care plans are a failure, he’ll take responsibility for them.

He's a narcissist of the first order. There's no way he can acknowledge any responsibility for any failure - ever. He'll simply pass the blame off on someone else, and say his own 'heroic' efforts were thwarted by enemies (all the while rolling a pair of steel ball bearings around in his hands a la Captain Queeg).

And how much trash was left behind? Remember the photos from the last libtard rally there?

We certainly are very closely aligned with what happened in ‘30’s Germany. What is happening in our schools is the equivalent of the Nazi Book Burnings. They are taking out books that give the Conservative side, adding books and making them mandatory reading for students, that convey only the National Socialist/Marxist philosophy.

They are also indoctrinating the children more than ever and are making private/home schooled education against the law.

Of course, they just came into power and it is alarming how much they have accomplished of their agenda in such a short time. If they are allowed to keep going, then our guns, capitalist system, etc,,, will all be gone.

And the movement is still growing. It's nice to be able to SHOW THE WORLD that the dem controlled MSM is lying about conservatives. WE ARE NOT AN ANGRY MOB - we ARE CITIZENS. AND there are MILLIONS OF US.

“I believe what you say. Obama would gladly get rid of Christians, Down’s syndromes and old people. I believe it with all my soul.”

Add Jews, Hindus, and any one not a Muslim of Hussein’s persuasion. That should reduce the total US population to something Hussien can manage...

Good point but having the majority (in the House) and therefore the speakership is not insignificant. The speaker weilds tremendous power.

I’m sure that will be cold comfort to all those who had already perished under his “health” care.

“Obama and his minions will be defeated in November 2010.”

Motor Voter, ACORN and $8 billion can stuff/lose a whole lot of ballots. Works in Wisconsin and Washington State to name two.

Really! What’s with the ban on comparing modern tyrants to Hitler?

Gibbs made a statement implying that Hitler was and will forever be unsurpassed in evil. My head almost exploded. News flash, Mr. Gibbs: Stalin, Idi Amin, Chairman Mao and Pol Pot have already proven you wrong.

What’s the sense of learning history if we REFUSE to believe it can never be repeated.

And when the “Republican’ts had that power, they were absolutely worthless. Even the crybaby Democrats controlled them when they had a very strong majority in both houses and the White House.

They even made a move to guarantee the Democrats an equal voice. Today, the Democrats have completely shut them out of the process as a gesture of thanks. And the Republicans (majority) still believe they have to cooperate and be a part of what ever crumbs the Democrats hand them.

But most of them either vote right along with the Democrats, or they shiver in their chairs in fear of their angry voters who put them in office. It is clearly all about their pathetic careers and retirement benefits, not their principles or standing up for Conservative Principles.

When first elected, Hitler wasn't yet the Hitler he became notorious for. The signs are there about Obi. Childhood similarities, narcassistic behavior, etc. Hitler could have been stopped early, if people recognized him for the Hitler he would be.

Maybe, we can save Barry and ourselves from himself. If the poster gets people to ask "why?" and to look at the similarities, then it was appropriate. Yelling out "You Lie!" and "Liar!" is appropriate, too!

there it it....LS and LLS, two, not just one.

Pay closer attention Bert.

I’ll go with LLS. I think fear is now come into play. The incessant major speeches, especially to a joint session, is demonstrable evidence of fear. The “You LIE” response from the floor reverberated around the world. Only mindnummed zealots denied the veracity of the two words. Many tried to hide that truth behind a fig leaf of lack of decorum, but knew that lies prevailed in the speech. The major wound was inflicted. It might be healed, but blood was drawn.

Spilled Presidential blood is a bad thing. It has been learned that to get a little blood on the floor is not difficult at all.

The crowds on the mall might be publicly be ignored, but they induced and multiplied fear.
