Vitter Wants To Bar Federal Funding of ACORN

Republican David Vitter says no federal funds should go to the New Orleans-based ACORN organization.

Vitter has introduced an amendment to the Transportation, Housing and Urban Development funding bill that would bar any federal money in that approrpriation from going to ACORN.

"It's certainly not news to anyone that ACORN has been the subject of some controversy over the past year, and last year's presidential election brought to light evidence of ACORN chapters engaging in fraudulent voter registration activities," Vitter said.

"They are currently under federal investigation and this is simply not the sort of organization that should be funded by taxpayer dollars."

Vitter has been an outspoken critic of ACORN and has offered multiple amendments to bar the organization from receiving federal funding. He also block the nomination of Census Director Robert Groves in the hopes of receiving written assurances from the White House that ACORN would not be involved in the 2010 census.

Vitter described the Census Bureau's decision last week to drop ACORN as a partner, "a good, common sense move."

Yeah, but he’s from La. where the funeral home headquarters of COI/ACORN is located. He seems to think the ridicule he takes is less important than the position he takes. He may know more than most about COI/ACORN.

Oh, I’m sure that those who have been caught are not representative of the organization as a whole...

Vitter has tried on numerous occasions to get Congress to deny federal funds to ACORN. He will continue to do so. He did so before the prostitute sting thing. Federal tax dollars should be immediately cutoff from ACORN and an intensive audit done to determine what the money to date has been spent for in this stinking septic tank. ACORN is a corrupt arm of the Democratic party even though they maintain that they are nonpartisan.

CUT THE FUNDS. DO AN AUDIT. Failure to do so will only enhance the mistrust that we the people have for Congress.

David Vitter is going to win big in Louisiana. In fact, he may not have any opposition. After all, he hasn't killed anyone in his automobile yet. We have no problems with him. He held over 20 town hall meetings throughout our state during the month of August. How many did your Senator hold? We know where he stands on every issue because he lets us know, and he is ivory soap conservative.

They are no less criminal than the DNC. They should both be convicted of RICO felonies.

Pray for America

Vitter BUMP.

Here’s hoping he’ll be reelected by a large margin.

While defunding ACORN, Vitter needs to add another amendment defunding Planned Parenthood of the receipt of our tax dollars once and for all.

Vitter is not new to this proposal — he’s been fighting funding for ACORN for quite a while now. Time to send him another email of thanks.

Good job of repeating the talking points from the left. You are better than that. Vitter has been almost alone in hammering this issue and I’m darn glad that he sees fit to do so.

Ivory Soap Conservative??? Surely you jest. They guy likes to screw hookers. Last I know, conservatives don’t partake in that type of activity. Well I guess Louisana is pretty immoral with New Orleans and all. I can see why you would vote for him. Get some morals please. I am from Pennsylvania and unfortunately we did away with Santorum...however, I voted for him...no scandal in his past.
