Bill Maher Pulls a Don Imus (Makes on 'Ho" joke targeting Michelle Obama)

Alleged comedian Bill Maher followed in the footsteps of shock jock Don Imus with a "ho" joke, this one targeting Michelle Obama.
It came in the context of Maher accusing DRUDGE of "subliminal racism" by posting a headline that read "Poll Hell: Obama Negs Rise." After trying to stretch "Negs" to represent the "n" word, provoking laughter from only a few among his audience, Maher showed several ficticious DRUDGE headlines.
One fine one displayed Michelle Obama working with a garden tool in what may have been a ceremonial tree planting. The made-up caption read "Hoein' The Garden." That provoked groans and laughter from the audience. Unlike Imus' joke, this one was clearly well-planned.
So, how does this differ from what Imus said in his infamous "nappy headed ho" statement referring to the Rutgers women's basketball team?
Can we expect outrage from the Reverend Al? (No)
CBS fired Imus. Will HBO fire Maher? (Naw)
Will Maher apologize? (Perhaps weakly, with an accompanying joke that makes light of his own apology.)
Just imagine the fallout if Larry the Cable Guy delivered Maher's joke. Or, say, Jeff Foxworthy.

Nothing will happen because he is a Socialist/Communist. Now if he a was a conservative or Republican then it would be all over the news.
Don’t waste your time with this. Most know Bill is a joke, and he is only on TV or HBO. He is a waste of O2.

I remember the last time I made a hoe joke. I was working for the brown trucks. There was a bundle of 20 garden tools bundled up outside of a truck bay. I went up the scariest black dude and said, "Johnny, there are 20 nice hoes hanging out by bay 32". Johnny goes up and and checks it out.
Johnny almost falls over and says,"Dan my man, you got me again".
Everybody was scared of this guy. I always called him out.
He took a lot of time off and would cry racism if he was challenged. I would say " What as it yesterday Johnny, Arbor Day?"

It's called "projection": all the nasty little truths about themselves cause so much inner conflict that the only way they can reconcile the discomfort is to accuse others of the same.
It's a disgusting and cowardly tactic! Nationally televised or otherwise.

"So, how does this differ from what Imus said in his infamous "nappy headed ho" statement referring to the Rutgers women's basketball team?"Well, Maher didn't call Michelle Obama 'nappy-headed', which is almost the worst thing that you can say about a negro woman. They really hate that and it was discussed many times during the Imus incident.
Having said all of that -- Maher went off the deep end years ago and I'm not sure why anyone would care what he says. He is a shock jock without a radio show. He is probably following discussions like this and getting off -- why do you think that he says the stuff that he does? It certainly isn't for the laughs of his audience because many times they only give polite laughter.
Stop feeding his ego by discussing him.

Maher has now effectively p!ssed off everyone, right and left. He has used lazy word games as an excuse for humor in a way that might have amused only a handful of backward 2nd graders. He has betrayed his own latent racism while trying to blame it on a center-right-leaning internet news site. A double evil.
His targeted audience for his “humor” were those on the left who have developed an irrational hatred of anything that even smacks of republicanism. These people will listen to anything that supports their false images and feeds their hatred. Hatred that is provided with a bit of smarm is what passes for humor with this type of person. They are equally responsible for encouraging Bill Maher. Perhaps the nervous laughter that Maher received was really a revelation for these people of what monsters they have become.

The Left really shot themselves in the foot by going after Don Imus because his talk show was the only outlet where the MSM prima donnas would go to hang out. Because Imus was simulcast on MSNBC, witness how many times Tim Russert, David Gregory, sports journalists, and the other MSM pundits and anchors would appear, both on Imus' syndicated radio show and his TV cable simulcast.
By shutting Imus down, the MSM lefties took off the air the only talk radio outlet that was actually sympathetic to them AND popular with the masses.
I don't think that Bill Maher has replaced that lost outlet.

He was not nearly so bitter and was actually quite funny. I liked it when he skewered everybody, left or right and some of the "Politically Incorrect" shows were fun, back in the beginning (1993). He for the most part stayed impartial while everybody else got heated. Bill's lost the magic I guess.
