The Protocols of Lyin'

There is a new President in town and he is willing to say and do anything in order to get his health care bill passed. The Democrats and their bedfellows, the mainstream media, are with him all the way. Their aim is to make sure this President is treated like royalty, never held accountable for what he says and does, and that he gets his health care bill passed. Together, this love triangle of power has created their own set of rules regarding the President, a protocols of lyin'. Republicans and Blue Dog Democrats take note.

Congressman Joe Wilson, did you actually scream at the President "You lie!" during his health care speech before a joint session of Congress and the nation? Oh, "Say it ain't so Joe!" But, to the delight of the President, the Democrats and the mainstream media, it is so, and they are not about to drop this "controversial issue."

Makes me so mad they didn’t do this!

As for your fellow Republicans, they should have broken ranks with the new protocol, followed suit, and joined you when they had the chance. Remember the famous scene in Spartacus when the Romans, having defeated the slave army, wanted to make a spectacle of the slave general Spartacus, only to have their plans foiled when what was left of the slave army, each and every man, dragged himself off the ground, stood and declared, “I am Spartacus!” It might sound like wishful thinking on my part, but it would have been a great gesture of solidarity, and certainly great theatrics, if each of your fellow Republicans on the floor had stood, one at a time, looked the President in the eye and likewise declared, “You lie!”

So it ok for Democrats leaders to lie to the American people? Obama’s speech wed was 1 big lie. There was not one factually accurate statement in the whole mess.

You have to understand: Liberal Democrats are highly moral people with lofty standards.

If a liberal tells what some primitive people regard as a “lie,” it is done with good intentions and not with an evil motive of money and/or power grabbing, as it is with lying Republicans. s/o

Outstanding article! Read the whole thing, folks.

I'm sending this quote to my eunuch Senators and Congressman.

I think that any verbal use of the term “lie” would have been viewed as a breach of decorum. I would have loved to see the Republicans silently and in unison raise a sign labeled FALSE! every time Obama uttered an untruth. The visual impact of hundreds of silent dissents would have been enormous.

This strategy also would have sidetracked any inherently unproductive and unresolvable discussions about Obama’s motivations (a lie being the KNOWING utterance of a falsehood) and instead focused attention on what matters more. At the end of the day, it doesn’t really matter whether Obama has made erroneous statements out of ignorance or malice. What matters is that public support for the plan declines once people realize it really will cover abortions, it really will help illegal immigrants, it really will take away private plan choice etc. And once people see and understand the president so consistently on the wrong side of the facts, they can draw their own conclusions about whether this arises from stupidity or venality.
