I'm listening to Hugh Hewitt right now.
I like his show, or I wouldn't listen. But can't the guy do a segment without a guest? SHEESH!!!
Hewitt is a RINO. Most of the Salem Radio Network hosts are RINOs. It is a matter of time before Salem bellies-up
Hewitt is the SMARTEST guy on our side... dismiss him at your peril.
Which other Salem hosts do you think are “RINOs.”
Hugh is very smart and I don't dismiss him at all. I have my likes and annoyances with all of my favorite hosts. My wife calls me a crab. :)
Many folks require near 100% affirmation from the host. Otherwise, he’s a “RINO.”
Hewitt did more than support Romney in the primaries, Romney is truly his guy, Hewitt even wrote a book about Romney in an effort to propel him into office. Hewitt is a deluxe, grade A rino of the first degree.
One thing that you will notice about Hugh Hewitt after a while is that even though he doesn't work for PBS anymore he devotes his radio show and his life to moving conservatives to the left, he is a constant force to move things just a little more to the left all the time, he is a perfect romneybot.
Hewitt is a Pollyannish idiot when it comes to politics, he knows one speed and that is to be enthusiastic about his moderate fellows and give the impression that the election is won.
I have been listening to him longer than most folks here and it is amazing how useless his analysis is because he has the personality of a door to door salesman, a little like a college professor that used to work at PBS would have, that personality leads him to constantly sell, instead of analysing.
Nobody interviews like Hugh Hewitt. He’s as sharp as a tack. That’s his specialty. The other thing I like about him is that when he is interviewing someone, he continually repeats his name when he addresses the person. That way, if you’re coming in on the middle of the interview, you know who it is.
Hewitt is the SMARTEST guy on our side... dismiss him at your peril.

I agree.
Hugh is a notch about Med dedhead. Both a couple of RINOS. Medved pushed and championed McLAME from the get go....He really liked him, if you could believe that. LMAO. Amazing anyone listens to either of them.....
Hey ES!!!!
Long time. : )
I just got on air - Was the listener from northwest GA - from Kennesaw.
Medved used to cover more cultural matters and interview a lot of the goofy, feminist professors that wrote those silly books, but in politics he is no better than Hewitt, in fact he has joined Hewitt in supporting Romney in his war against conservatives.
Hugh’s podcast are going Paid starting October 1st.
I’ll miss his weekly Steyn Segment.
I used to think so, too. Thought so for about four years, in fact. But after listening to him pretty steadily for about four, maybe five years, it finally began to dawn on me that I was wrong. So are you.
Hugh is a moderate pointy-headed intellectual with little practical knowledge of how the real world works. The man defended uber-liberal Erwin Chemerinsky's appointment to UCI law school on lofty, "noble" principle that was flawed and pompous from the git-go -- that's when Hugh really forfeited my respect. He lives in a theoretical philosophical dream world (plus he has HORRIBLE taste in music and cars!).
I thought the same way that you do about Hugh for so long that I figured Romney must be a pretty viable and good candidate ... then I started listening to Romney's words and paying attention to ALL the things he says, not just the sound bites. I was amazed that Hugh could be such a dumb bunny -- but then again, Romney is an Eddie Haskell, and Hugh is the quintessential dork mark for every Eddie Haskell ever born. Hugh is gullible and limited. He's so gullible that he thinks Rick Warren is great stuff -- AGAIN, out of respect for Hugh's opinion, I was inclined to regard Warren in a positive light ... until I read his book "Purpose Driven Life" and actually had dealings with and around the fringes of his Flock. Once again, I learned how FLAWED Hugh Hewitt is.
A great lawyer, no doubt, and a true pit bull in interviews, skilled at getting liberals to eviscerate themselves on national radio -- but a moderate nonetheless.
I listen to at least the first hour of HH's show about 4 times a week...for at least the past 5 years. I think I know him pretty well.
Without doubt, HH is not as conservative as I am... but, he's pretty darn good. Fact is, folks, if we're going to build a MAJORITY, we HAVE to have some 'moderates' on our side. Hugh's good... He supports and agrees with most every true conservative. But, he understands the other side too... and, he's good with tactics. I don't ALWAYS agree with him.... but, usually. And, I definitely like his style and effectiveness.
Hugh is part of the problem of what ails the Republican party, not the solution, and he is out of touch -- he's an Ivory Tower guy and an elitist to boot -- understand and COMPUTE that these are not knee-jerk opinions on my part, but ones arrived at after many, many hours of listening.
I generally listened to all three hours for probably five years, got to know him at least as well as you do. I'd make excuses every time he'd sway left or exhibit all the elitist clay on his feet (and they're heaped with it) ... until it became so frequent that I stopped making excuses and tuned in to Larry Elder instead. Sadly, Larry is off the air ... and sadly, Hugh is still on. Larry is the better conservative and TEN TIMES the better hope for the party.
