John Stewart had his best segment ever trashing the MSM over their how some kids scooped them to find out about corruption at ACORN.

Dennis Miller started off life in the far left lane, too - and so did I. Many of us wake up, sometimes slowly, sometimes in one morning watching two skyscrapers fall to the ground. In any case, good for Jon Stewart. Of course he’s embarressed - this is the kind of story that used to be the bread-and-butter of journalism from the days of Nellie Bly and Jacob Reiss. The good news is that while the mainstream media dies, others are taking up the slack. God bless America.

Bernie Goldberg made a compelling plea the other night that we should not call “them” the MSM because there is nothing mainstream about them. Think about it. The people marching on Saturday were mainstream America. The leftoid trash that publishes the NYT is not mainstream anything, except perhaps treasonous.
Goldberg is asking that we come up with a new acronym. I know Rush has several. I like the YLM (You Lie Media).

I remember John Stewart once saying before the invasion of Iraq that the people of Iraq didn’t need Saddam’s palaces, they needed ‘Sandwiches’. He impressed me then, and just impressed me again.
I haven’t the highest regard for him, but it’s just supposed to be a comedy show. I try to keep that perspective.
Nevertheless, I think too many young people latch on to his often overly-simplistic way of looking at things. I am uncertain of his political compass, I happen to think he just goes whichever way the political winds are blowing and they are starting to blow in our direction again.
He’s part of the mindless herd, this is what fuels his ratings. The pendulum is starting to swing back and he along with it.

I really liked this line. All journalist should be ashamed of themselves over this.
Stewart will never be a friend, but this is a red-meat story and he sees the wolves cowering in the corner and he’s asking why. And he’s not liking the answers he isn’t getting. In that sort of a total vacuum of professionalism he won’t be a fake journalist long, because if he’s the only one talking about it, he’s a real one. I’m sure that prospect horrifies him as much as it does us, but it isn’t his, or our, fault.
Jon Stewart wants his ratings. He is a ho. (but unlike Mahr, he can upon occasion be amusing.)
Call me petty, but since the liberals love him then I’ll continue to despise him. When Jon Stewart ticks off the liberals then maybe I’ll take some interest in what he says.

Read on another thread that Gibson (he has a nightly news “show” on some network channel - I watch local news only) said that he didn’t know of the Acorn story and felt it worthy of ‘cable’.
I presumed that he believed that ONLY network/over the air (also carried over cable) news broadcasts to be worthy.
I’ll wager that an equal number of his viewers also lament “My Mother The Car” being canceled.
