NEW HAVEN, Conn. — The fiancee of a Yale University animal research technician says on her MySpace page that she's not perfect, but cautioned people not to judge her.
"Who are you to judge the life I live? I know I'm not perfect and I don't live to be, but before you start pointing fingers make sure your hands are clean!!" writes Jennifer Hromadka, the 23-year-old woman engaged to Raymond Clark III.

This is totally off-topic, but is anyone else getting a little tired of this “don’t judge me” mentality (this has absolutely nothing to do with the murder of the young lady)?
In theory, it’s great. In practice, it ain’t practical.
We ALL judge, every day and I’m sort of sick of people throwing out the only Bible verse they know in an effort to deflect criticism of their idiotic/antisocial behaviour.
It’s 3AM, you’re walking down the street and see a little old lady with a walker coming toward you. Feel nervous? Of course not.

Fact is, opposable thumbs and the ability to judge is what separates us from 99% of the life on Earth.
Of course we shouldn’t walk around as if our stuff don’t stank, but being afraid to “judge people” is what has this country in the mess it’s in now.

I know too many people who have absolutely no talent whatsoever who tattoo their bodies and pierce their skin in a desparate attempt at trying to make themselves “unique” and cool. They crave the look, but there’s no “there” there...

I also find it particularly odd as Asians are less culturally compatible with white Americans than (most) Latinos and Europeans. This is another one of those American cultural trends that I just don't understand. I guess some men are not threatened by boyish, quiet women...

So far you have called them douches and effete. But you don’t have a problem at all.
So far this is all speculative, but I think it’s her fiance who is the suspect, not this girl. And maybe her friends are giving her grief because she’s engaged to the suspect. And maybe the suspect was playing around with both girls.
Not really enough to go on, but that seems likelier than that she did it.
The issue is when it seems 30-50% of the couples I see in Manhattan these days are white men/Asian women, even though Asians are a small % of the population relative to blacks, Latinos, and whites, and that an Asian man/white woman is rarer than a black swan. “Color blindness” is a myth, and the relationships in question prove it.
Certain races seem to have either ultra-macho men or ultra submissive women.
I can easily see what men see in oriental women, what I can’t see is how the women could be attracted to the scummy white guys they are with.

Over the past several decades, we have seen horrific instances of some very brutal behavior in our young women. I hope this is not another.
Sorry for hijacking this thread, but this is an issue that I haven't been able to discuss elsewhere (DAMN political correctness!).
While I am far from being Tuco Ramirez, the Italian half of me makes me a bit too congenitally macho (yet conversely overly sentimental) for either American feminists or Bourgeois Asians, the latter of whom seem to prefer metrosexuals and yuppies. I'm happy with my Brazuca myself after a long search.
Now, back to talking about this poor girl's murder. Looks as though it may have been a classic crime of passion/obsession. All too common, I am afraid.
I don't analyze it; who knows why people flock to sites like that. But I'm single and relatively young, yet haven't a presence at any of those sites. Nor any intention of signing up. OTOH, some friends of mine who are authors with books to publicize, use these sites.
Old-fashioned? Yep. So retro, I'm unlisted in the phone book!

Many women are attracted to powerful males, but power can take many forms, one of them being race.
A woman who has no chance of marrying a truly rich or powerful man, may consider marrying a man of another race that is perceived to be better and thus more powerful (just her perception) if that is the best she thinks she can do. Men on the other hand are not generally attracted to powerful women and prefer to be the ones in charge, so the same phenomenon occurs but in reverse.

Agreed. They're smart too. I'm partial to the Vietnamese and the Thais. They are very sweet tempered (for the most part).
After learning that the young male lab technician is also engaged to be married, it’s possible that he and Annie may have been just very close, platonic friends. I have had work colleagues who were ‘hugging’ types. Perhaps his fiancee saw them together, misjudged their affectionate relationship and just ‘lost it’.
Now he may be trying to cover for her.
Dunno, could it be that Asian girls do not have the “attitude” many “feminist” white girls have?
I live out here in “fly-over-land”, so haven’t the opportunity to scan the crowds looking for such pairings. But, I have sons, and before they married, felt some concern that they would marry young women who were so ignorant of what it takes to make a marriage work.
Imagine there is a macho scale ordered by race. In descending order from most macho to least.
Blacks
White
Hispanic
Asian
Men will tend to marry women from their level of macho or lower, while women will tend to marry from their level or macho or higher. The end result is that you hardly ever see a black woman married to anyone but a black man or a Asian man married to anyone but a Asian girl. (Extreme wealth or power can however overpower these tendencies)
And the fascination with Asian girls is that most men assume they will:
Do everything they are told
Are great in bed
Will cook, clean, etc. and never question them
Will be subservient.
Look at the comments on FR alone from the men who 'got Asian girls as wives'.
Prolly due to the fact that liberal women aren't all that fun to be around and have forgotten (or never learned) what it's like to be a lady. Most of the Asian women I know absolutely revel in their femininity. Now why the Asian girls would want to be with a sissy lib metro I don't know. Maybe it's about money.
Again, these men are afraid of women with “fire.” This seems to be the case with many (hopefully not most) American men these days. Wussified by feminism, they seek the only race of women who would submit to them. Its fine and dandy, until they see how much little Lie Chen is charging on the Amex...
