Jimmy "Peanut" Carter stood by and let 53 Americans be held hostage in Iran for 444 days while he stood by and did nothing.

I wouldn't say he did nothing. He did invade Iran with three helicopters.

They didn't get to Iran. They stopped in Saudi Arabia.
