As Race Debate Grows, Obama Steers Clear of It (NYT)

WASHINGTON President Obama has long suggested that he would like to move beyond race. The question now is whether the country will let him.
He woke up on Wednesday to a rapidly intensifying debate about how his race factors into the broader discussion of civility in politics, a question prompted in part by former President Jimmy Carters assertion Tuesday that racism was behind a Republican lawmakers outburst against Mr. Obama last week as the president addressed a joint session of Congress.
Even before that, several conservatives had accused their liberal counterparts of unfairly tainting them as racists for engaging in legitimate criticism of the White House.
Mr. Obamas response to all this, aides say, has been to tell his staff not to be distracted by the charges and to focus on health care and the rest of his policy agenda.
He could probably give a very powerful speech on race, just as he did in the course of the campaign, said Valerie Jarrett, a senior adviser to Mr. Obama. But right now his top domestic priority is health care reform. Its difficult, challenging and complicated. And if he leads by example, our country will be far better off.

I only hate his white half, so I'm excused from this debate.
Frowning takes 68 muscles.
Smiling takes 6.
Pulling this trigger takes 2.
I'm lazy.

Don’t believe for a second that Obama isn’t behind all this racism crap. He has his minions (Carter and others) do the dirty work and he sits back and pretends to be the uniter.

I challenge anybody to remember any line from his “very powerful speech on race”... (Aside from when he threw Grandma under the bus, which does stick in the mind!)

"He could give a speech, Throw Grandma under the bus... It worked the last time!" EXACTLY!
By staying quiet OBOZO is providing his tacit approval of the race baiting.
OBOZO is just like his mentors (incl rev wrong): a communist, racist, anti-semite, pro-moooooslum who hates America and our Constitution.

Bingo. The Kenyan’s polling going to be negative on the race card.
Not to mention, there’s no escalation after calling half the country racists. What are they going to call us next? Illegal aliens?

But nooooooo...Bill O. declared last night that had Jimmah called Barry beforehand to inform him of his plans, he would have had a fit!
