House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) on Thursday said she worries that the protests of President Obama's health-care legislation may be of a similar nature to anti-gay rhetoric in the late 1970s in San Francisco, which culminated in the assassinations of two of her home town's political leaders.
Pelosi, responding to a question about anti-Obama sentiment, said that partisans on all sides of an issue have the right to voice their opinion. But after pausing, she added: "I have concerns about some of the language that is being used, because I saw this myself in the late '70s in San Francisco. This kind of rhetoric was very frightening, and it created a climate in which violence took place."
Republicans rejected this assertion and accused her of likening protesters to Dan White, a member of the city's board of supervisors who killed Harvey Milk, the first openly gay member of that board, and Mayor George Moscone in 1978.
"The speaker is now likening genuine opposition to assassination," said Rep. Pete Sessions (Tex.), chairman of the National Republican Congressional Committee. "Such insulting rhetoric not only undermines the credibility of her office, but it underscores the desperate attempt by her party to divert attention away from a failing agenda."

You know....from the clips i’ve seen of her talking about this...She never really spelled out who she was talking about. From what I saw, she could just as easily been talking about all the ones on the Left, who for the past few weekas havw been building to a cresendo, their insinuations, all the way up into outright accusations, and labeling Conservatives/protestorss as racists...How all the left Stream media TV and print, all brought up racism and all encouraged their guests and fellow panel members to incite racial tension, and trying to make it appear that the only way that race riots could be avoided id if conservatives back down, and then the Left wouldn’t sic “their” black people” on Republicans by inciting riots.
You know...Black people always believe what the “woonderful” Democrats say..../Sarc

My concern is that the far left will off Obama and pin it on the right. I wouldn’t put it past them. Never let a good crisis go to waste. The last thing the right wants is for Obama to be a martyr. We want him alive and well, just out of office.

I read a similar article yesterday, saw the video of her statement and now read this, this morning.
Our protests have been amazing examples of real patriotism and citizenship. Our attendance at townhall meetings and standing up to their power, demanding answers, and asking tough questions about bills in Washington that they have not even bothered to read. Every protest I’ve attended we lift our country UP!
A while back there was a discussion of why the left has this disconnect with ordinary folks. After long contemplation I still return to the same theory, they lack a true moral compass, they miss God.
Pelosi’s statement is an excellent example at the highest level. Her outrageous comparison results from her secular mindset that God is just a word. Her secular mindset cannot even begin to grasp that we are angry, but self-disciplined in the expression of that anger. She fears violence, as well all of us should, but fails to see the timber in her own eye.
All of the crazy rhetoric, accusations, and violence has all come from her and people just like her. People who have a secular mindset. This secular mindset has either pushed God out to the fringe or eliminated Him entirely. The result is, at least for Pelosi, seeing the world as an angry mob that needs to be controlled. Pelosi and 0bama, they are there to provide that control, at least that is how they view it and so do thousands of their followers.
Government is there, instead of God, to control your lives.

Someone pointed out that the violence that Pelosi is talking about was a DemocRAT killing two men who denied him a job. That was not hate crime because one was gay but they other was a tough italian. End of story end of her talking points.
