RALEIGH, N.C. Doctors say a North Carolina man who was plagued with coughing fits should be OK now that they have removed a 1-inch piece of plastic from his lung, where it had rested since he apparently inhaled it nearly two years ago while sucking down a soft drink at a Wendy's restaurant.
Doctors at Duke University Medical Center say the plastic fragment of an eating utensil with the Wendy's logo still legible on the side was likely to blame for the coughing, fatigue and pneumonia spells that plagued John Manley for almost two years.

Sure you will.
That's great because I couldn't before...

Patient: Doctor, you’ve got to help me. I think I’m a kleptomaniac.
Doctor: Don’t worry. I think there’s something you can take for that.

True story:
I was being wheeled into surgery for my busted hand. Asked my surgeon, "Doc, will I be able to play the piano?"
He deadpanned, "That depends on whether you could play before."
Me: "That depends on who you talk to."
He did a splendid job. My little finger on my RH was basically detached - put in two stainless steel screws and reassembled the tendons - I can play the piano AND the harpsichord, as well as sew and type, just as well as I could before. Whew!

I bet the guy inhaled it on purpose just to try to win a big lawsuit. ;-)

Ya have to eat a Frosty with a spoonMy rule is that I only use a straw on a Frosty. It's really a challenge when they are cold. My face muscles get a workout.
To: Dallas59
It wouldn't unless either placed there by an employee or placed in the drink by the customer re: a potential fraudulent Wendy's lawsuit. How exactly would one suck up a piece this large through a Wendy's straw? Second, one would immediately feel the sensation of a sharp plastic shard in your throat area and in your lung even worse!
Merely a conjecture but I suspect he may have done this himself for the purpose of a lawsuit. It seems highly unlikely one wouldn't immediately sense a problem and seek medical assistance which might have discovered the problem.

Ya have to eat a Frosty with a spoon if its really cold and stiff ... coulda broken off part of the spoon. Maybe so...but it looks to me like that is the wrong end of the spoon to be eating off of. Here is a pic of a Wendy's spoon in a Frosty.
Compare it to the pic of the swallowed spoon portion. Isn't that the end of the handle? If so, that had to have been done on purpose
