NEW HAVEN, Conn. (AP) - As police charged a Yale animal lab technician with murdering a graduate student who worked in his building, a portrait began to emerge Thursday of an unpleasant stickler for the rules who often clashed with researchers and considered the mice cages his personal fiefdom.

There are alot of petty people who get off on controlling their little personal feifdom at work. Not many of committ murder over it though. If this turns out to be more about clean mice cages than some stalker/sex thing I nominate this loser for lamest crime of the century. Although it's telling that he chose to take it out on a 90lb girl rather than a member of the football team.

“...and considered the mice cages his personal fiefdom.”

Geez, that’ll do it for PETA - he’ll be so guilty to them that there won’t be a need for a trial.

Why couldn’t the geniuses at Yale have seen this coming?

an unpleasant stickler for the rules

So anyone who follows rules should be reported to flag@whitehouse.gov now?

Who knows. They’re so busy worrying about the students who won’t socialize that they ignore the real psychopaths.

Wow. Great points. I always assumed it was a sexual thing, but you tidy it all up very well in your post. What a lamo freak.

He’s white, normal, and has “III” at the end of his name. He’s fit, and a “muscular former athlete”.

At Yale, he makes a PERFECT “bad guy”.

This smells A LOT like Duke LaCrosse, OK?

Many of these weirdnesses I can kind of understand where they came from, can connect an obsession with an outcome. This one is a blank. All I can come up with is “How can he do that?” What sort of insanity or malevolence can produce that?

ABC News reported that Clark sent a text message to Le on the day she vanished requesting a meeting to discuss the cleanliness of mouse cages in the research lab.

Apparently she was killed by a control freak over a stupid mouse cage.

i read that there her blood was found on the bottom of his shoes, which have his name written on them, and that his trademark green pen was found in a crevice in the room her body was hidden. he came to work the next day with fishing hooks, wires and bubble gum, to try to extract the pen. from what i have read the case is pretty tight against him, regardless of his “perfect” name, race and profile.

There are alot of petty people who get off on controlling their little personal feifdom at work. Not many commit murder over it though.

With many people who are office tyrants it's not a big stretch to imagine them committing murder to get their way. People who are controlling in that way seem to lack the most basic human empathy and seem at least mildly sociopathic.

Well, it’s for sure he’ll ‘have his own place someday’. Except this time he’ll be cleaning his own cage.

True sociopaths are typically very intelligent people. This guy stikes me as a former high school jock that did not make the college cut. Did not have the grades to go to college on his own (flunked out his freshman year).

Feelings of being cheated by life he compensates by enforcing unyielding control on his tiny corner of the world.

His profound feelings of inadequacy are the cause of his anger management problem which led to his uncontrollable rage that ended in the killing of Le.

In short the guy is a looser who couldn’t get a grip and killed a girl because he thinks the world in too unfair.

He may indeed be the perp.

But there is more to this than what we can deduce from just looking at the photos and pondering what it would be like to be a lab tech in a vivarium.

He may not have done it. If not all these armchair psychobabblers will have these posts follow them for a long time.
