Some animosity against Obama is 'race-based' says Brown

DAYTON — Sen. Sherrod Brown said Friday, Sept. 18, that he believes President Obama should have a health reform bill — one with a government-run insurance plan and universal coverage — on his desk by late fall.

The Ohio Democrat said he would be “hard-pressed” to vote for a bill that does not include a government insurance plan as one of the options available to people. He made his comments following a breakfast speech sponsored by the Dayton Area Chamber of Commerce at the Crowne Plaza Hotel.

Also Friday, an audience member asked Brown about comments by Nancy Pelosi, the U.S. speaker of the house, called on political leaders to cool down overheated rhetoric, lest it spark violence.

Brown said the animosity aimed at Obama, America’s first black president, was “pretty amazing.”

“I think some of the animosity against Barack Obama is race-based,” Brown said.

The comment drew some boos from the audience.

Brown said the people who dislike Obama for racial reasons represent a minority of those who oppose the president. But the senator added that he has seen racial vitriol against the president expressed through letters, emails and phone calls.

Of course some of the animosity is race based, but no grounds exist to call everyone opposed to Obama a racist.
Anyone who voted for Obama only because of race is a racist but no one is commenting on that!

Ironic, isn’t it?

The kool-aid drinkers say that Obama’s election was healthy politics and the current opposition to his collectivist schemes are the result of racism.

But it’s really just the opposite.

Personally, I am more concerned about his being a Chicago politician than being half white/half black man: that and his associations with “the Weathermen bombers, militant communists activists”: He learned from one of the most entrenched corrupt systems in America. MO

All right, then so I believe that wraps it up with Sherrod Brown being the final white democrat in the world to pile on the the ‘racist’ bandwagon. Thank you Senator for this historic event.

What an idiot. I would have voted for Alan Keyes for president. I read all of Walter Williams, Shelby Steele, and Thomas Sowell’s books.

Disagreeing with the head marxist does not make one a racist.

Some support for Obama is race based.

The dems would have more credibility on this if they did not shout “racism” every time someone disagrees with them.

There is no racism in my opposition to Obama. In my eyes, all liberals are equally worthless.

““I think some of the animosity against Barack Obama is race-based,” Brown said.”

Yep, and almost 100 percent of his support by black voters is race based too.

And dont forget the race based support of guilt tripping white “liberals”.

I like the booing part!

Yeah, we’d all just roll over for socialized medicine—if only it had been proposed by a white guy.

We also wouldn’t be opposed to Communist Revolutionaries in the White House-—if only they’d been hired by a white guy.

We’d really love the federal deficit—if only i had been run up by a white guy.
