Investigators probed a failed Queens truck rental for ties to a possible Al Qaeda bomb plot yesterday as a chief terror suspect tried making a deal to save his skin.
The New York end of the expanding federal probe centered on seven Afghan men who tried to rent the biggest truck at a Queens U-Haul on Sept. 9, sources told the Daily News.
The size of the vehicle involved - a 26-foot-long truck - suggested the conspirators wanted to pack it with explosives, sources said.

For Christ’s sake...it was only 26 feet long. Maybe it was also 26 feet wide....yeah.....that’s it....a 26 ft x 26 ft truck.

This story seems to be “too big” for something so small.

I wonder where the explosives are. Before they’d rent the truck, they’d have rounded up the explosives. It’d take a while to get the right ingredients and they probably wouldn’t rent the truck for that whole time.
Of course this would have blown Zero’s cover....if they’d succeeded. He’d have had to explain his peace-loving religion to the us heathen. Wait. The MSM will cover his butt no matter what.

First, in Queens, you can find stolen cards relatively easily.
Second, just get a damn card in your name......after all, if you’re going to blow yourself up...have fun!
Third, there are rentals require ID....unlike social services or the proposed healthcare.
IIRC, the '93 WTC bombers were caught when a terrorist returned to the truck rental agency, saying that the truck had been stolen and attempted to re-claim his cash deposit.

But I am used to it...You hear a traffic accident between a “truck” and a car and when you look, it’s a pickup. Sheesh, no one does any homework anymore.
Ever heard of a dry run? Remember 9/11 hijackers made at least one dry run on the same flight as actor James Woods. Woods reported it to the FBI weeks before the event.
Al Qaeda aren't geniuses, but they seem to understand the value of a dry run.
One of the lessons of 9/11 was the need to take these jamokes half seriously, at least. The 9/11 hijackers were no better than these clowns. They exhibit what George Smiley would brand extremely shoddy tradecraft. The whole conspiracy unravels like a cheap sweater when you pull on one little thread.
