Well said. Beyond this is the ongoing breakdown in morals and ethics. This is the real dilemma our nation faces. Consider the reaction to political lies. The people that lie well are celebrated by many citizens and much of the media. This begs the question...Who can be trusted? I wish I had an answer to that because the only means we have to judge the veracity of potential leadership is their oratory and past history and this has not worked out too well for us over the last twenty years or so.
My gosh! What a great web site! Thanks for that - everyone ought to go spend some time there and realize what we’re up against.
The fractional money system is now, with the might of the government to back them up as always, sending us down that same road. Scary stuff, but good to have eyes wide open, and, like a good Boy Scout, be prepared.
Did you happen to see Shawn Hannity's special from the San Joaquin Valley, California this week? They turned the water off and produced a desert and 40+% unemployment. The whole country will have higher food prices.
It was enough to give anyone nightmares.
I was reading an account from some guy who had survived a conlfict, I think Bosnia, and it caught my attention that one of the shortages he mentioned was containers, cans, jars and such.
I still feel that way.
I read an article in the Mobile Press-Register before Katrina that 47% of the population of New Orleans could not read or write. The population was 68% Black at that time.
You can live without gold, but you can't stay human without TP.
Just paid my local county Unsecured Property Tax for the year. Businesses are taxed for the physical assets they possess within a county. If I am one day late on the payment, the late fee would add 40 % to the bill. We will probably see that applied to individuals. You will be taxed annually for all the stuff you possess.
The above statement is absolute B.S. Farmland in Iowa is currently around $5000 per acre.
////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
He didn’t mention Iowa, he said lots of places, from what I have heard Iowa is NOT the cheapest place in the country to buy farmland. A short search brought up loopnet.com which shows a listing for a Green river valley ranch of 255 acres for $150000. I think you may be a little too quick on the draw with the BS charge. The last time I checked farm land in Eastern Oklahoma was a small fraction of the Iowa price. I am ninety percent certain I can find farmland in South Carolina that would meet the price. There are some real bargains for those who have big cash bucks, unfortunately I don’t
I’ve been interviewed by a Newsweek reporter who is coming to my house next week to spend some time with me. I believe she is also going to visit some preppers in California who live near those farming areas. I would love to see it get far more national attention than it has.
As an aside, I would recommend that everyone buys smaller gold and silver coins. If everything really goes kaplooeey, there will be 6 months to a year of all out Darwinism. Whomever is left will have to barter. If you need a milking cow and all your gold is in a one big bullion, you’re kinda screwed. On the other hand, smaller denominations might come in handy for buying penicillin, getting someone to restore your generator, buying more ammo becuse you blew through yours defending your property and fields, etc...
Even better....... buy lots and lots of long term storage food. Everyone will need to eat and its every bit as good as gold as far as an investment goes.
We have been stocking up on food recently. Date it and keep a list and just replace as you go. Big cans of peanut butter, soups, canned vegetables, bulk rice and beans, powdered milk, maple syrup, etc etc. It’s better than MRE’s although I have some of those too.
None of it goes to waste if everything is hunky dory and it’s good insurance against inflation or worse. I now have enough food to feed my family of 5 for 6 months or more.
I am planning on buying more soon along with lots and lots of seeds. I also have plenty of ammo. Assuming we get in a decent garden somewhere in there and find a few deer and fish we would be just fine and would have some left to barter with.
I also have lots of bottled water and 4 propane tanks. I rotate the propane out for my gas grill. I am thinking about buying a generator too.
I live in a city but I have a few friends in the country. I believe we would be welcome just about anywhere with that much stuff.
By the way..... I used to think this was crazy talk but not any longer. I have life insurance, home owners, and car insurance. I consider this my inflation or civil disorder insurance. I owe it to my kids and family to be ready and it really cost me nothing as we rotate the things into our normal meals.
My main recommendation would be to read the book "Patriots". Enjoyable read-but a LOT of practical insight-like getting silver and gold coins instead of bullion or getting a gas powered generator and storing gas AND fuel stabilizer so the gas lasts.
I have an acre and a third of very farmable land in Joisey (yes-there are rural areas outside Soprano land). I have a wood burning stove and miles and miles of preserved forest around me. Boiling water and cooking on the top won't be a problem. Slowly but surely stocking up on ammo, seeds, rice, canned beans, and penicillin. I cut down on DVDs and books and am trying to get to a point where I have a good years supply. Figure after a year, most of the unprepared will be gone. Hopefully will be able to band together with some good people and form a perimeter. Eventually a barter economy arise.
My God, how did this happen only 20 years after Reagan.
Small gold coins can make criminals think you have big gold coins stashed away
Silver doesn't have that allure
You can check but I think 1/10th ounce gold coins are $1500 per ounce
APMEX has silver one ounce coins it mints
Sunshine Mining mints them
You can buy old silver dollars which have .715 ounce silver in them
Also junk silver coins....old dimes quarters and halves
We can all wake up one day and find that Obama or a clone like him has issued a new currency that devalues your savings. Silver and gold coins will easily retain their value and maybe increase
I hear gossip about problems with 100 ounce silver bars. Some have been drilled and filled. The buyer may want as assay on them if you sell
Check out ebay for some beautiful Johnson-Mathey and Englehard 10 ounce silver bars in the 170-180 range. Get extruded....not poured. The consensus is it is to much hassle to drill n fill these or counterfeit them
How did it come to this?
Like who?
