Everything you needed to know about the unorthodox roll out of the now-notorious ACORN sting videos was hidden in plain sight in my Sept. 7 column, “Katie Couric, Look in the Mirror.” ACORN was not the only target of those videos; so were Katie, Brian, Charlie and every other mainstream media pooh-bah.
They were not going to report this blockbuster unless they were forced to. And they were. What’s more, it ain’t over yet. Not every hint I dropped in that piece about what was to come has played itself out yet.Stay tuned.

But with their decision to ignore the Jones story, they may have actually done Mr. Obama far more harm than good: Who vetted this guy? How did he get past the FBI? You are right they are running rings around Bernstein and Woodward. Always thought a lot of Bernstein and Woodward so called investigavtive journalism was less then honest and more of an agenda to take down Nixon — facts didn’t seem to matter that much.
With the videotapes we are not relying on word of mouth by an anonymous source but live reporting via video. Much more credibility IMO.

"Progressive" history classes teach us the importance of the journalists known as the muckrakers in the early 20th century. They exposed the items the "establishment" of the time did not want to be known.
Now that the radicals of that day have become the establishment of today, these journalists have become the muckrakers of today.

It’s more than the representatives. It’s the permanent staff that moves along as congresscritters move out. It’s the advocacy organizations that exist to direct legislation to favor their constituents.

I don’t know, but they are invisible, insidious and permanent.
