WASHINGTON (AP) - More than 35 million people around the world are living with Alzheimer's disease or other types of dementia, says the most in-depth attempt yet to assess the brain-destroying illnessand it's an ominous forecast as the population grays.
The new count is about 10 percent higher than what scientists had predicted just a few years ago, because earlier research underestimated Alzheimer's growing impact in developing countries.
Barring a medical breakthrough, the World Alzheimer Report projects dementia will nearly double every 20 years. By 2050, it will affect a staggering 115.4 million people, the report concludes.

And they’re all Democrats.
A gaggle of them voted 3rd-party in the last election to teach the GOP a lesson.
There are at least 62,000,000 who have dementia in the US of A alone!
Really? ... Ya mean there are actually 62,000,000 registered Democrats?
...and all three responses within about 20 seconds!
Certainly. More than half are still alive.
If this Administration doesn’t drive us all crazy, I don’t know what will . . .
I think you're overestimating, quite a few of those 62 million are simply morons.
Many of them brag that their daddy was a Democrat so they're born with it!
It’s awfull when you get so old you can’t do it anymore, but your memory is so bad, you thought you did.
Blame global warming
The Cult of Personality.
Like Mussolini and Kennedy.
Like Joseph Stalin and Gandi.
I sell the things you need to be
Im the smiling face on your t.v.

According to ACORN there are.
“don't your remember - yesterday you agreed to be euthanized”
Is this article about Jimmy Carter?
At first blush, this may seem insensitive, but ... how much do we need to send to algore (or his Alzheimer’s counterpart) to fix this problem?
My mother in law is dying from Lewy Body Dementia. It’s been a long road for everyone involved. It’s a horrible disease inflicting someone I love very much. She could live another 2 years in a very bad way. It tears your heart apart some days when she has moments of clarity and sobs for the life she knew. I appreciate the glib comments on this thread for what they are and pray this awful disease doesn’t strike your family.
And yes. Liberalism is a mental disease, though my MIL wasn’t one of them.
Bill O’Riley says there are only 75,000.
A moment of levity to brighten what could turn into a dark thread.
I had a friend that died of ALS and it was a sad thing to watch as his personality slowly slid back inside his body until all he could do was look at you, but you knew he was in there suffering.
Prayers to you and your MIL.
IANAD, But have you tried Coconut Oil and/or a low carb diet ?
Also I’ve heard good thing about Methylene Blue, it’s in clinical trials as Rember.
I guess we can forget about help from them these days?
Gee, you're almost ready for "Witty Comebacks" class.
Give or take a few RINOs who often "forget" which side they're on.
I’m sure there will be a ton of jokes, but let everyone read the simple truth here: Age humbles us all in the end.

That’s just crazy talk.
Rasumessen has been tacking this outbreak. Thankfully that number is now shrinking.
Made me laugh.
“And theyre all Democrats.”
Damn! The exact words I was gonna type ....... !
My mother had Alzheimer’s and the only way we got through it was with humor.
At the end of the day I’d tell my husband the question of the day that was asked a couple hundred times and how I managed to answer it as if it was asked only once.
Or the Mother’s Day card that was left on the cofee table that she found at least 10 times a day and said, “How nice!” and 10 times a day it was Mother’s Day for a few seconds.
My favorite was the pilfering. She kept her purse with a hundred dollar bill clutched to her chest and she checked on it every few minutes. She liked to put things in her purse, tags from new clothing, pens, pencils and rocks, little things that caught her eye and she would appropriate them. I used to love looking through them to see what had caught her fancy that day.
One of my favorite days was the day we watched “The Bank Dick”. The gags were fast and furious and simple and she laughed until she cried. I need to watch it again and see if it was as funny as it was that day.
Mom always read and she still wanted books, she’d carry them around and open them up every once in a while but she never turned the page.
I had a very beautiful afghan that she loved and I gave it to her as a gift everyday.
My Mom has this and I don’t see a Damned thing funni about it!!!
Your stories are sweet and sad at the same time.
My wife’s grandfather died of this disease in 1995.
Our first child was born the next week.
God has a way of renewing what was lost. He did for us.
