MICHAEL STEELE: I-- I-- I found that to be stunning that the White House would send word to one of only two black governors in the country not to run for re-election. And it just raised a curious point for me. I think Paterson-- Governor Paterson's numbers are about the same as Governor Corzine's numbers, yet the President was with Governor Corzine, and I don’t know if there’s been a request made of Governor Corzine to step down in New Jersey. So I-- I just find it to be stunning and also rather bold.

I have no interest in supporting anybody whose primary loyalty is based on race.

Boehner said he is focused on taking the gavel away from House Speaker Nancy Pelosi — and during the debate over the” stimulus” package, some House Democrats accused him of being disrespectful for dropping the massive bill on the floor. The minority countered, saying “What's disrespectful is wasting $800 billion and expecting our kids and grandkids to pay the bills.”

Oh, they can call us names, they can call us nazis, they can call us terrorists, they can call us nut jobs...but don't you dare drop our albatross monster bill on the floor (what is it, their Bible - ohhhhh...don't answer that..)

What a bunch of crybabies and juvenile delinquents.

Suddenly I am hearing about the Apollo group, I had never heard of them until I believe Sean Hannity the other night. Why isn’t more being made of this? Oh right, the media doesn’t want to talk about it!

Harry Reid was on record praising the Apollo Group for writing the stimulus bill back in January or February 2009.

I’m sure he has been told to shut up since blabbing about that.

After all, Republicans and conservatives are supposed to pay the price with Hispanics for opposing Sotomayor, but the RATS got more support after opposing Miguel Estrada.
++++++++++++++++

The problem for Steele was twofold - he missed the chance to bring up the connection of Cuomo to ACORN to Obama. Secondly, he didn’t even make the point he was trying to make - something along the lines of liberal hypocrisy calling Conservatives racist while themselves opposing candidates of color whenever it is politically expedient without themselves falling prey to their own assanine criticism.

Calling out liberal hypocrisy was a worthy answer - he just didn’t make the point - didn’t make the connection.

If he were on top of his game, he could have made both points!

I think he did it poorly, but I think he was headed down the path of saying the liberals are hypocrites on race - criticizing Rs and Conservatives for being politically expedient when the Ds and libs are always expedient regardless of race - so LAY OFF US when the same thing happens...

It’s such a primarily phony issue (race card) and is being used WAY too much by the boy who cried wolf libs.

We might give them an opportunity to serve in the majority again, and be perfectly willing to take it away til they get it. It may take several cycles for those that serve us to get it.

We need an outside group of real conservatives to get very active in the primary process, to purge the RINOs out. Forget third parties, the only way to make it happen is to take over control of the Republican party the way the Left has taken control of the Dems.

What will the Republicans do to free us, the people, this time?

Hey, I miss that five dollar a gallon gasoline...

Absolutely correct. The question is why aren't Steele and the rest of the Republicans prepared? They never refuted the Sotomayor opposition will hurt Republicans with the Estrada and Janice Rogers Brown opposition didn't hurt the RATS at all with hispanics and blacks. They aren't linking Cuomo to ACORN. They can't call out the RATS on their racial hypocrisy. What the bleep are they doing all day?

“What we need to do is forget the (R) and forget the (D), and rally people to vote “Conservative”.”

Great point worth repeating, concernedaboutpolitics.
This is what Palin stated, in similar terms, during her final speech as Governor. Yet another reason I like her!

The RNC will have my attention when they start talking about cleaning up the GOP, getting quickly back to small government, and restoring state/federal balance more than they whine about getting back into power. And that’s exactly what I told the solicitor wanting $200 bucks from me.

When the RNC calls me I tell them I’m no longer a Republican. When they ask me if I joined the Democrats I tell them, “Hell no! I’m a Monarchist.”

Right. It’s not *all* Republicans, but most Republicans and about 95% of the leadership. They are fiddling while Rome is burning or about to burn...perhaps that’s an inept analogy..
