From Pennsylvania Right-to-Work:

Most readers are already aware of a growing scandal involving the pro-forced unionism Association of Community Organizers for Reform Now (ACORN) in New York, Baltimore, Washington, and now, California. For those who missed it, ACORN representatives were caught on camera giving advice to undercover journalists on how to open an illegal brothel, launder its profits, and commit a host of other illegal activities.
According to The Washington Examiner, teacher union officials have contributed over 1.3 million dollars (in mostly forced union dues) to ACORN since 2005.
We decided to do a little digging into union financial disclosure forms on the Department of Labors website. After examining union financial records, it turns out that officials of several high-profile unions diverted large sums of mostly forced union dues dollars to the same ACORN offices in Washington and New York that are implicated in the hidden camera scandal.

I think there's a lot more info that's going to turn up now that people have started really digging into this.
Obama certainly can't ignore this....he knows what else is out there and it can't be comforting.
This is why Obama wants to give the unions the power to intimidate people into forming and joining unions.
Impeach!
FReep mail me if you want on/off the list.
I suspect the genie is out of the bottle. This agency has operated under the radar for so long that they felt it no longer necessary to take elaborate steps to avoid people seeing what they’ve been up to for years.
Well, there’s a new sheriff in town and it’s called the new media. Light’s going to be shining into areas that have been pitch black dark for way too long.

BUMP!
As I understand it this isn’t illegal just extremely shady given the BS term the “representative services” used to describe what ACORN provided for in exchange for this money. Of course, there is the forced dues angle. I suggest we find a couple SEUI members who are willing to participate in a law suit. There must be a few.
Ignore it he can and will. "Oh, that's not important. I was their attorney on some select issues. As we all know, attorneys are honor-bound to advocate for their clients' interests. The problems you are raising are not from the ACORN I knew, and outside of the scope of my advocacy for them."

All it takes is one...
Then, everyone gets in line for a little “face time” on their favorite news outlet.
Whoever made that ACORN logo should get a GRANT from the NEA (art community)! roflol!
speechless ping
Eventually the corrupt strong ties between all of these supposed community organizations will come to light and then they can be connected to BO.
ACORN/SEIU/NEA = S.P.E.C.T.R.E. (Special Executive for Counterintelligence, Terrorism, Revenge, and Extortion).
4 Democrats visit the city to press their campaigns - 4 Democrats in city to press campaigns
Philadelphia Inquirer, The (PA) - Tuesday, July 3, 2007
Author: Thomas Fitzgerald and Larry Eichel INQUIRER STAFF WRITERS
For a few hours, Philadelphia joined Manchester, N.H., and Des Moines, Iowa, as a hub of presidential politics yesterday, with four Democratic candidates making stops to cater to elements of the party’s base.
They courted the 3.2 million-member National Education Association, which is holding its national representative assembly in Center City and traditionally provides money and manpower to Democrats.
They then appeared at a presidential forum in North Philadelphia staged by a national advocacy group for the poor.
“Your agenda is basically my agenda,” former North Carolina Sen. John Edwards told members of ACORN .
Edwards, New York Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, and Sen. Christopher Dodd of Connecticut addressed more than 9,000 NEA delegates, promising variously to pay teachers more, reduce class sizes, change the controversial No Child Left Behind law, and make pre-kindergarten classes available to all 4-year-olds. The union plans to endorse a candidate in the fall.
“The test has become the curriculum when it should be the other way around,” Clinton said, bringing the teachers to their feet with an assault on No Child Left Behind, a federal law that requires schools to test students annually in reading and math, penalizing those who fail to show progress.
“Our children are getting good at filling in those little bubbles [on tests] but how much creativity is getting left behind, how much passion for learning is getting left behind?” Clinton said. She pledged to provide pre-K classes for every 4-year-old in the nation, which her campaign has estimated would cost $5 billion a year.
Clinton also drew a standing ovation for vowing to fight school vouchers “with every breath in my body,” saying providing public money to allow students to attend private schools would undermine public schools and lead to an “erosion of our democracy.”
Dodd said he was “proud to have a 100 percent NEA voting record” through six years in the House and 26 years in the Senate. He called the union members “trustees of our democracy.”
Edwards promised that his administration would “treat education professionals with the dignity and respect they deserved for the work they do every day.” He also proposed having the government pay college tuition for all students who are willing to work 10 hours a week; his campaign said that the program would cost a net $3 billion after changing the federal student-loan program so that the government administered the loans rather than banks.
Edwards, Clinton and Rep. Dennis Kucinich then appeared at a presidential forum staged by ACORN - the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now - at Bright Hope Baptist Church in North Philadelphia. The national organization advocates policies that help the poor.
The three joined in endorsing ACORN ‘s stands on such issues as sub-prime mortgages, voter protections, urban policy, education spending, immigration and the minimum wage - in each case calling for strong federal action.
(snip)

"Get your pencils and paper ready. Today. we're going to learn how to use HUD federal funds to open a brothel
utilizing underage children imported from the Third World. And when I become president, this will all be legal."
"And get my check ready."
Well well well.
It’s obvious 0bama has planned a total takeover of the US.
All the posters who say “don’t concern yourself with his elibigility etc etc - just concentrate on electing better guys in the next election” are trying to distract from his takeover. “Next election” - right! I’m sure he and his stringpullers and minions want to change it so he can have 3 terms or just screw elections altogether. What to speak of ACORN style fraud, with Black Panthers guarding polling places.
Is somebody actually spraypainting those around?
LOL!
I call for impeachment now.
.......I call for impeachment now......
Ha, ha, ha
You are depending on a legal system that doesn’t exist.
Think again
We know the hierarchy of this tyranny and we should also know you can’t treat cancer with aspirins. We the people are alone in this, no FBI, CIA, congress, house, Senate. Anyone feeling a bit naked and vulnerable yet? Lots of great stuff coming out day after day but it seems thats about it. No mojo, no leader, no hearings, no hint of prosicutions and some still afraid to call this a socialist take over of the United States of America. Well we’re alone in this unless we see a leader soon.
Yeah, I know, but he should be impeached. I can dream, can’t I?
what the hell does Buffy mean when she says “WE are acutally running the government”? and odd that she said make no mistake about it, Michelle wears the pants in the family?
Then we have this complete transcript and audio of how this Administration used tax funded organizations to work for him during his campaign (for two years) and as this conference call shows still using these organizations to promote his agenda! Crimes committed? Read and listen for and judge for yourself!
I'd say it already is. It's just that we don't have a Bernstein and Woodward in today's media to investigate and bring obama's dirt to light. Surely there is a journalist somewhere out there who wants to make a name for himself. Thank goodness for Drudge, Breitbart, Beck etc.
Thugs, union and acorn —
No leftie political bias there.
Bump
I’m wondering if Glenn Beck will cover this tomorrow. Big Government/Breithart had something about the National Endowment for the Arts. Hmmmmm.
So this is how the NEA spends its money. And silly me, thinking they spent it on improving teaching skills and other educational topics.
"Watergate" is a perfect analogy. It was the cover up that was more important than the actions. The contrast to the behavior of the press then compared to now is stark. Mr. Breitbart has laid down the gauntlet and he is the Woodward and Bernstein of this age.
You're never going to touch a Democrat president while he has his spear catchers (the SRM) in front of him. Can they be shamed enough to do the job they should have done two years ago? I don't know. Are they going broke? Yes. Obama let out a trial balloon for a national bailout for SRM (starting with newspapers) on Sunday. He has to rescue them in some fashion, without their help his administration will go down in flames faster than anyone expects[1].
If you think opposition to Obamacare is intense, wait you see what happens if they attempt a newspaper bailout. The American people have already voted (with their wallets) on how much traditional print media is worth. Their time is over.
I really hate printed newspaper subscriptions. The garbage piles up (even with quite a decent paper like the Orange County Register). There's also the added bonus that when you are away from home for a few days there's the nice "We're not at home now, please steal our stuff" message in the stack of newspapers at the doorstep. It's a dead technology that has been made all the more dead because of an abject lack of real unbiased news available.
Mr. Drudge's reporting led to the impeachment of a sitting President that didn't come to anything. So far, Mr. Breitbart's reporting has led to a key WH organization being defunded and light being cast on all kinds of skeletons that we knew were there, but no one had done the legwork to get the complete story.
[1] I'm a pessimist since 1996. Obama will be a 2-termer unless something changes the balance of power.
OH Gee Louize NOT ACORN AGAIN This time they got NEA on this
Yes indeed = Any other “President” would already be hearing calls for impeachment since his “election” was largely due to the illegal activities of Acorn thugs and fraudulent voters...and, I will wager, millions spent to pay for votes, and to pay others not to vote.
They had the money - follow it.
What is needed is insiders in the voter fraud schemes...and every single Republican official in every state and local election as well in Congress - not shutting up until Acorn is totally DISBANDED!
I get a security warning when I click on this post....
The powerful Service Employees International Union (SEIU) has also made financial contributions to ACORN. In 2008, the SEIU transferred $12,500 to ACORN's Washington, DC office for "consulting fees and expenses." Once again, this was classified under "representational activities." The DC ACORN office is also implicated in the massive hidden camera scandal.
Finally, the NEA union hierarchy made its own significant financial contribution to ACORN in 2008. According to Department of Labor disclosure forms, the NEA bosses transferred $78,000 to ACORN's Brooklyn office.
My, my. That little Brooklyn ACORN office is very well endowed!
Thanks for the ping!
I suggest we find a couple SEUI members who are willing to participate in a law suit.
&&&
Perhaps some who are terminally ill will be willing to come forward. Others, I suspect, are averse to wearing cement shoes.
Yep, but there is certainly nothing illegal about what they did...
Too bad the membership of those organizations are clueless to do anything about it...
To each his own...
LMAO
These people need to go.
We need a very clean slate.
Is there a way to get people to run for government that won’t self corrupt $$$$$$ in 10 minutes upon arrival?
*sneer* Fail to see how this is newsworthy...
-your friends in the unbiased, non partisan, activist left wing media
BTTT
There needs to be a fund set up for out-of-work conservatives to sit down and pore over the public records of these organizations, with intense training in what to look for.
