As many as one in six patients treated in NHS hospitals and GPs surgeries is being misdiagnosed, experts have warned.
Doctors were making mistakes in up to 15 per cent of cases because they were too quick to judge patients symptoms, they said, while others were reluctant to ask more senior colleagues for help.
While in most cases the misdiagnosis did not result in the patient suffering serious harm, a sizeable number of the millions of NHS patients were likely to suffer significant health problems as a result, according to figures. It was said that the number of misdiagnoses was just the tip of the iceberg, with many people still reluctant to report mistakes by their doctors.

Let me guess. Brits can’t sue the Government doctors?
They can get damages from the NHS agency. But the doctors are shielded. (It’s up to the NHS to deal with the doctors afterward. Often they don’t.)
The same will happen in the U.S. if HealthCrap passes. One half of current MD’s have said they will retire if HealthCrap passes.
Consult the Law of Supply and Demand: If the supply goes down and demand doesn’t, the remaining supply will have to vastly speed up its services - that will result in a boatload of hurried misdiagnoses. Ambulance chasers will file lots more frivolous suits, more doctors will retire or be forced into retirement. Soon, your local barber will once again be offering medical care, just like 200 years ago.

wow
government medicine. these kinds of wonders never cease.
who gets to define these damages?
The DemocRATS want equally bad medical care for everyone.
I have no idea of the method of calculation, but the victims sue the NHS in court.
