The President Risks Getting Stale
The Wall Street Journal ^ | 09-23-09 | Karl Rove

Posted on 09/23/2009 6:16:12 PM PDT by GOP_Lady

It sounded to White House advisers like a good idea. Put President Barack Obama on five Sunday morning talk shows. This would focus attention on health care, re-establish momentum, and show off Mr. Obama's passion, intelligence, and persuasive abilities. It didn't work.

Mr. Obama made a classic mistake of politicians on a downward-bending arc. He jumps out in front of the cameras without having something fresh to offer.

That's because the teleprompter didn't have wheels?

Regardless of one’s opinion about Rove, he is one of the best political tacticians ever. But this president is so full of himself he'll ignore this kind of advice.

His biggest mistake was not speaking to Chis Wallace. The other appearances were “preaching to the choir.” If he was really wanting to turn around his negatives, he would have tried convincing a few Fox viewers.

Ah, but the liberal view is that Fox News is.....take your pick........biased, evil, too conservative, not nuanced, has too many talking heads talking too fast, showcases conservatives such as Hannity, which belies a bias, not “fair and balanced”.

The good liberals were happy that Obama sent Fox a message by not going on Fox News Sunday. Yep that will teach Fox a lesson, won’t it???????

Obama is a narcissist. He’s attracted to TV cameras as a moth is to light.

The "Oklahoma!" lyrics about Jud Fry come to mind:
He's lookin oh so pretty and so nice
He looks like he's asleep
It's a shame that he won't keep
But it's summer and we're runinng out of ice

Thank you. Here is my impression of Obama at McDonalds:

Clerk: May I have your order, sir?

Obama: Yes, I have always been in favor of ordering. Our financial system is based upon consumer demand and I don’t want to do anything to change that. And, I think that when I or we order, I or we ought to start considering the impact our order has both on our nation, and the rest of the world economy. Like I do. I or we can no longer afford to order as if I or we were the only country on Earth. What I do, and what we do today, when I or we order, is going to reverberate down to the following generations. For example, ...

Clerk: Sir, what do you want to order?

Obama: As I was saying, for example, were I to order the fish sandwich, which is what I really want to order, I have to consider the impact on the New Zealand fish industry. If New Zealand can sell this same fish in Thailand, then there is a savings that accrues both in terms of finance and in terms of our carbon foorprint. This fish doesn’t have to be shipped all the way to San Diego, processed, and then shipped to Washingon D.C. It can be consumed right there in Bangkok, and the calories will do more good and go further, than that same fish in Washington. That is just good stewardship. You know, my grandmother always told me that if I was a good steward to others, then others would be a good steward to I.

Clerk: Sir, would you please order? There’s people in line behind you.

Obama: Lines just may have to be a part of a new, more environmentally conscious society. I am willing to wait in line if I know that by waiting in line, I am making a positive impact on this world.

And so on for two more hours, 420 “I”’s, and he ends up getting a dollar menu sundae.

parsy, who could have written a book

Gee, I hope Karl didn’t write the headline.
The guy IS stale.

I have friends on social sites who are Democrats...even they are saying “yeah, I don’t like the way things are going either...”

He is not thrilling his own party.

Sure, the kooks still love and worship him...the lunatic left. He also has minorities and the academics....but Main Street America is beginning to see Hussein is a joke.

I even believe some African Americans and academics will begin to see him as an empty suit.

He began as a community organizer and is continuing in that constant drone mode...acting like he is on top of things, but he isn’t. And the slip is beginning to show.

I haven’t lasted long during a single speech of his, ever, either during the campaign or as POTUS. Since becoming POTUS I haven’t seen more than 2 minutes of his speeches. Those two minutes represent the clips on Fox news that run before I can reach my remote.

I think I have fakedar as a 6th sense. Probably due to my several husbands who were complete fakes.

In the fall of 1970, Karl Rove, a future White House Deputy Chief of Staff in the George W. Bush Administration, used a false identity to enter the campaign office of Alan J. Dixon, who was running for Illinois State Treasurer, and stole 1000 sheets of paper with campaign letterhead. Rove then printed fake campaign rally fliers promising "free beer, free food, girls and a good time for nothing," and distributed them at rock concerts and homeless shelters, with the effect of disrupting Dixon's rally. Dixon eventually won the election. Rove's role would not become publicly known until August 1973. Rove told the Dallas Morning News in 1999, "It was a youthful prank at the age of 19 and I regret it."[1]

Alan J. Dixon; Wikipedia

My first election in 1974, second year in college, Dixon is running for state treasurer. Free beer at the second best place in town.(We showed up early) No speeches or anything, just piles of posters, etc. And 18 kegs of Busch beer, ice cold. Al cleaned house in that Republican district. Rove was so good, he created a monster without even intending to do so.

I know what acres of codfish drying on racks in the sun smells like
I know what a turkey farm baking in 100 degree heat in South Carolina smells like.
I know what a skunk smells like.
I know what a truck load of cabbage spilled on the highway from an overturned eighteen wheeler smells like as it rots in the Carolina sun.
I know what rotten eggs smell like.

This administration, not just Obama but he and all his stinking friends smell worse than all those other things together.

What I find frustrating is at this Point people Still cant see this Guy for the America Hating Marxist he is,can people be in this much Denial , after that perfrmance Yesterday at the UN,Obama was in his element with all the Loons ,he Sounded like his speech was written By Jeremiah Wright.
