UPDATE 1-VeriChip shares jump after H1N1 patent license win...
Reuters ^ | September 23rd, 2009

Posted on 09/24/2009 9:38:23 AM PDT by TaraP

Sept 21 (Reuters) - Shares of VeriChip Corp (CHIP.O) tripled after the company said it had been granted an exclusive license to two patents, which will help it to develop implantable virus detection systems in humans. The patents, held by VeriChip partner Receptors LLC, relate to biosensors that can detect the H1N1 and other viruses, and biological threats such as methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus, VeriChip said in a statement. The technology will combine with VeriChip's implantable radio frequency identification devices to develop virus triage detection systems. The triage system will provide multiple levels of identification -- the first will identify the agent as virus or non-virus, the second level will classify the virus and alert the user to the presence of pandemic threat viruses and the third level will identify the precise pathogen, VeriChip said

The mark of the beast. I will not comply with any implants for any reason.

Will these implants track homosexuals with AIDS? Maybe sound an alarm when one of these perverts approaches a child? Notify the parents and the police?

I’d buy stock in THAT company.

It isn't a matter of if we are forced to have these things put in us without having a say, but when we will have it done to us.

It’s not the “Mark of the Beast”. The damned thing goes in your arm or back, not your right hand or forehead, which would be stupid places to put a computer chip.

What the VeriChip does represent is the latest attempt to turn human beings into property. Well, not me. I’d no more let the government chip me than I’d let them brand me or tattoo an ID number on my arm.

I oppose this abuse of technology on the grounds of human dignity. That’s grounds enough. Bringing 19th Century fundamentalist superstition into things will only serve to make opponents of the chip look stupid.

The radio frequency identification chips are cool. The same technology used in the Fast Lane of the toll booths. It just deducts the toll from your account. I can read the print outs and tell exactly where and when my wife went somewhere. Its great! And now they can detect diseases and virus when implanted in the body. Wow. We should get rid of all money and use these chips tied to our bank account instead. RF chips along with proximity scanners set up all over the country would make it impossible to get away with a crime. Just imagine how wonderful it will be. No more crime. A global monetary system with digital money. No more tax evasion. No more money laundering. No more drug dealers. If we could just figure out how to attach it to the central nervous system, then if you did commit a crime or something else that was undesirable, the authorities could just shut you down temporarily until they could pick you up. This is great!!

I would love to see the limp-wristed s***storm that would happen if someone announced they had a STD warning indicator that included HIV detection.

The proprietary design and the concept are exactly the same technology that will more than likely become the mark of the beast. I resent the 19th Century Fundamentalist remark however .

Most likely the mark of the beast is symbolic like 90% of everything else in Revelations. The fundamental premise of the “mark” is that without it you will not even be able to buy food, i.e. digital currency. Who knows, maybe the mark is the scar left by the implant. Anyway, that is where we are headed. There will be a 1001 reasons to get the chip, i.e. national ID to cutout illegal immigration to having your medical record on you at all times...notice the push to digitize medical records as well.

Bringing 19th Century fundamentalist superstition into things will only serve to make opponents of the chip look stupid.

Actually, the prophecy regarding the coming Mark was given by the Holy Spirit to a man living in the first century who could not have possibly known that the time would come when man would have the technology to number every human being on the face of the earth unless an omnipotent, omniscient God made him aware of what will be in the future.

I wouldn't be so quick to dismiss this as "fundamentalist superstition."

Pay With a Wave of Your Hand?

The idea to put chips in the hand for the purpose of buying and selling is already being seriously discussed. Not such superstition after all, huh?

Instead of this, why not invent a chip that kills unwanted viruses and bacteria in you body.

This chip can only be used to stigmatize.

Yes: total superstition. The whole Rapture/Tribulation/Dispensationalist thing is 100% pure American-made baloney that has never been part of traditional Christian eschatology.

Besides, if you’re the Antichrist, you’re not going to put your mark-chip in people’s right hands, which can be easily cut off, nor in their foreheads, where there’s going to be a noticeable bump. Instead, you’d bury it in some part of the body where it would be safe from disturbance, like the lower lumbar muscles of the back. In other words, precisely where animals are chipped today. And you wouldn’t make “taking the mark” voluntaruy, either; you’d simply chip people by force.

According to the Late Great Planet Earth doctrine, anyone who “takes the mark” in their right hand or forehead is automatically hellbound. But what about people with no left hands, or people with deformities that would prevent a forehead implant? And what if your hand gets cut off, or your chip falls out? (They do, you know.) Are you “off the hook”? So much of it just doesn’t make sense!

The real A.C. isn’t going to fool around like Michael York in some idiotic direct-to-video scare flick. He’ll be more like Gandhi or Mother Teresa — a universally loved champion of the human race. He will present the Jesus of the Bible as the enemy of mankind and himself as God and Lord of the World. He will then offer the human race a very real Heaven on Earth, provided that each of us voluntarily turn our backs on Jesus; that is, if we worship himself as God (and thus commit the unforgivable sin of knowingly denying the Truth of Christ.) Those who know the Christ of the Church to be God but who turn their backs on Him will be received into this earthly paradise; those who refuse the New Christ will be branded as traitors.

Please don’t scare non-Christians with this End-Times baloney. It runs away more than it attracts.

Wow- half the Bible wiped off the face of the earth in three paragraphs.

There are about four or five people on Free Republic who are total professionals at vehemently denying the Word of God and making that denial look perfectly normal.

I wish one of them would just take the time to list all the Bible passages they've decided are meaningless and therefore can be discarded because those passages don't 1. fit their worldview; 2. don't mesh with cult doctrine 3. scare them pretty badly because they know they're not ready to face Jesus Christ who said He will return and Whose return is very close based on events which are occurring right now around the world.

Of course that will never happen because those who reject most of what God wrote in Scripture don't have the courage to actually put it in writing. All they can ever do is attack and impugn the beliefs of others (beliefs which are solidly backed up with Scripture- oh wait that doesn't count because the people being attacked quote the Scripture that has been discarded), while being wholly unable to defend their own beliefs with Scripture.

Ok. I got it.

You should read some of that “19th century superstition”. You would be surprised how relevant it is today for your life and others.

REVELATION 13
The Beast from the Earth

11 Then I saw another beast coming up out of the earth, and he had two horns like a lamb and spoke like a dragon. 12 And he exercises all the authority of the first beast in his presence, and causes the earth and those who dwell in it to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed. 13 He performs great signs, so that he even makes fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men. 14 And he deceives those[e] who dwell on the earth by those signs which he was granted to do in the sight of the beast, telling those who dwell on the earth to make an image to the beast who was wounded by the sword and lived. 15 He was granted power to give breath to the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak and cause as many as would not worship the image of the beast to be killed. 16 He causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hand or on their foreheads, 17 and that no one may buy or sell except one who has the mark or[f] the name of the beast, or the number of his name.
18 Here is wisdom. Let him who has understanding calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man: His number is 666.
