Insurer Gagged, AARP Rewarded
IBD Editorials ^ | September 24, 2009 | INVESTORS BUSINESS DAILY Staff

Free Speech: The Senate votes against transparency as the administration silences a private insurer for exposing the president's health care proposal. Meanwhile, AARP is allowed to tout reform as it awaits payday.

We weren't surprised when the Senate Finance Committee on Wednesday voted 12 to 11 against allowing two weeks for the Congressional Budget Office to complete its cost analysis of the health care bill pushed by Montana Democrat Max Baucus and to put the bill online in its original wording.

Instead, the Senate panel passed another amendment to require the committee to post the full bill online in "conceptual" rather than the actual legal language. Republicans suspect Democrats are trying to put their preferred version of the bill online, rather than letting people read the actual bill as proposed — something few, if any, members will do — and then decide for themselves.

To further keep the American people in the dark, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), which administer benefits under Medicare, issued what can only be called a gag order after Humana warned its Medicare Advantage customers in a letter that the president's plan might cause them to lose some benefits.

Tar and feathers are so old fashioned. It should be RTV silicone seal and polyester.

I hope seniors all across the nation make their intesne anger and displeasure known by calling AARP and denouncing them in no uncertain terms and burning their AARP cards as well as cancelling any subscriptions to any of AARP’s stuff.

AARP technically isn’t an insurer, although they let insurance be co-branded with their name.

The liberal slime at AARP actually thinks millions of seniors are stupid. This lieing, waffleing, left wing, ACORN feeding company has changed its stand on the Obama healthcare ruse fifteen times in a month.I hope the rotten outfit goes bankrupt when seniors abandon them soon.

Those filth have been mailing me for ten years, and the mailings are escalating. All they get back from me now are obscenities, and the mailings still come.

And they are touting that excrement, the United Healthcare-underwritten House Plan of theirs.

Here’s the plan:
1. Kill the Medicare replacement plans
2. AARP through United Health Care gets to offer more supplement plans
3. More seniors forced to sign up for AARP supplement plans
4. More donations from AARP to DNC
5. Poor seniors pay more
6. Medicare gets rationed
