Jordanian illegal attempts to blow up Dallas skyscraper

DALLAS - Dallas FBI agents arrested a Jordanian citizen Thursday afternoon for attempting to bomb a skyscraper in Downtown Dallas.

According to the bureau, 19-year-old Mosam Maher Husein Smadi was arrested and charged for attempting to use a weapon of mass destruction.

Smadi had been under continuous FBI surveillance and was arrested after he allegedly placed and tried to detonate an inactive car bomb near Fountain Place, a 60-story glass office tower located at 1445 Ross Avenue, the FBI said.

This was no guy with backpacks. He brought a car filled with what he thought was explosives, parked it under a 60-story skyscraper, and activated the trigger. We're lucky the FBI got ahead of him or we'd have another bombing like the first attempt on the WTC, maybe OK City.

Maybe it’s just me, but it seems like the domestic explosive market is becoming like MySpace for pedophiles - every kid on MySpace is a cop, and everybody selling explosives on the black market is a fed.

According to a press release, Smadi is in the United States illegally and had been living and working in Italy, Texas.

He told them he came to the country specifically to commit violent Jihad "for the sake of God."

Maybe. This particular guy doesn't sound like the sharpest knife in the drawer.

The VBIED (Vehicle-Born Improvised Explosive Device) apparently was supplied by the undercover FBI agents that were pretending to be a "sleeper cell".

The guy was reportedly making online pronouncements about conducting terrorist attacks, and the FBI reeled him in like a fish on a hook.

I have family that live in a high end city in a US state and all of their neighbors are from Jordon. The neighbors rarely leave the house, they have sports cars and live high end and the women say they will all leave soon. Then I saw a news article in the same city of a Jordanian who stole billions from many US banks as a line of credit con and he disappeared.
