Ethanol group pushing for country-of-origin labels
September 24, 2009 By The Associated Press
HUTCHINSON, Kan. (AP) Ethanol producers are pushing a proposal to mandate country-of-origin labeling on gasoline pumps so consumers know exactly where their fuel comes from. But the nation's refiners say the plan is unworkable.

Ping!
Yeah, sure, so we can keep the pollution from Ethanol plants right here at home...
Ummmm...
Even with the gigantic government subsidies the American ethanol industry has gotten, it’s still not competitive with imports???
What’s wrong with this picture???
Global Warming # 1 scam
Ethanol #2 scam
I prefer ethanol from Scotland. And it generally does specify the country of origin.
I have always believed that any manufactured item carry the following:
1. The company’s name
2. The name of the major corporation that owns the manufacturing company that made the product.
3. The country of origin where the maufactured item was made.
I’m for it! I would only buy gasoline with foreign ethanol. I don’t want to give a dime to the socialist, taxpayer subsidized, Iowa, ethanol producers, who betrayed America by choosing putting the continuation of their massive welfare payments, over the prosperity, security and liberty of their nation.
Kinda like the ethanol from mexico with the little worm in each bottle?
First the anti-metals mining crowd saying the earth’s magnetism is going to be affected and now the fools on imported ethanol. Did someone not close the door behind them when leaving Bellevue?
I go for ethanol-free gas.
That is in violation of an imperial edict.:)
Corn is food not fuel.
if you are going to do it, then give country of origin labeling to the OIL part of the product as well. Let the consumer choose whether to buy Saudi or Venezuelan gas.
I have found a source for ethanol free gas locally in Oregon. At this time it’s only for dispensing into cans. In three months the law will “allow” premium non-ethanol contaminated gas to be pumped into vehicles.
