Far be it from me, who has spent the better part of three decades working as a police officer, to encourage anyone to take up a life of crime. But for anyone already disposed toward such a life, a golden opportunity briefly presented itself in the rural burg of Wellford, South Carolina. Mind you, this is no insult to the police officers of Wellford, all of whom Im sure are dedicated public servants doing their absolute best to protect the towns 2,000 inhabitants and their hard-earned property.
But a police force, whether in a city as large as Los Angeles or as small as Wellford, is after all an arm of the local political structure, and the evidence would lead the prudent observer to conclude that the political structure of Wellford, S.C., is on less than solid ground. The good people of Wellford, it would seem, have gone and elected a lunatic as mayor.
Strong language, you say. And indeed it is, but I have the evidence to back it up,...

The police either can’t, or won’t, protect individuals and their property so buying a gun is the right choice. More guns, less crime, less cops too and we’ll save some tax dollars.
Does this mean they are supposed to harass innocent citizens instead?
Insane.
I’ve had police oficers from mid-sized departments tell me they also had the “no foot chase” rules. Seems that it is an insurance/benefits. thing. Some offices after being injured in a footchase/fight will file for permanent disability which tends to send insurance costs through the roof.
What next?
“Yes Sarge, the perp was running away on foot, but we couldn’t give chase! He was running with scissors!”

And we wonder why the cost of health care goes up. I know that workman’s comp isn’t the same thing but it goes under heading of abuse of the system and it is a form of health insurance.
Just listen to the lawyers advertising for clients to sue doctors, nurses, pharmacies and any health care personnel, awwwww, phooey...
