I have never heard of this mandatory thing.

the Unions should and most likely WILL back up any individual worker as the union doesn’t want bad PR for themselves. ha.

It’s not. Medical staff are routinely required to be immunized for all sorts of things:

http://74.125.155.132/search?q=cache:jRiSyHcwJ3IJ:www.seattlechildrens.org/health_care_professionals/pdf/immunity_requirements_2009.doc+medical+staff+immunization+requirements&cd=1&hl=en&ct=clnk&client=safari

There, for example is a list of the immunizations required at the Seattle Children’s Hospital. You’re looking for tyranny in something that’s merely prudent.

Moreover, it would take a long union battle to fire an employee who has passed their probationary period...

Well, good for you, but I imagine that Georgia, Florida, Texas, whatever will have the same requirement. Unless by “South” you mean to the clean and well-run hospitals of Mexico and Guatemala, of course.

From the article:

The opponents also say it’s wrong that all five swine flu vaccine makers contracting with the federal government have been indemnified against lawsuits if someone gets sick or dies.

The makers of the vaccine cannot be sued, not sure if the state could be if it is a forced vaccination.

I have been told by parents on students shots if you make the school district liable for any adverse effect they will back off and not make the student have shots.

Uh no I don’t mean Mexico or Guatemala. There is a country that has excellent health care. Trump just built a new trump towers there.

This one containes squalene, mercury, and thermisol.

You can do a search on those ingredients if you’d like. I know I wouldn’t get it.

It looks like some adverse effects are starting to show up from the vaccine:

‘A Participant in the H1N1 vaccine trials has an adverse reaction and coughs up blood.’

It’s not unusual for some health care facilities to require vaccines including flu vaccines for their employees.

I have a sister that works in a nursing home and she had to get a yearly flu shot. One of my daughters works in a hospital and had to get some hepatitis vaccines, be up to date on all other vaccines and the yearly flu shot.

Employees are made aware of this when they are hired. If they do not like it they can choose not to work there. So nothing really new.

According to information I just read this week from Dr. Sears, author of “The Vaccine Book - Making The Right Decisions For Your Child” this vaccine is the same as any other seasonal flu vaccine. The only difference is the virus contained.

My own doctor told me the same. If they would have had time to include the swine flu virus in this year’s seasonal flu shot they would have. I still have concerns and I don’t fault anyone for having concerns as well. I always get a yearly flu shot and it has kept me influenza free for years. My concern is the short amount of time in which this vaccine was developed and tested and the fact that with young children who are receiving not only their regular vaccines, 4 flu shots within a short amount of time would be required if they are receiving both the H1N1 and the regular seasonal flu vaccine. Dr. Sears talks about that as well.

My children follow Dr. Sear’s recommendations to schedule vaccines for their own children. If you would like to check out what he has to say about the vaccines I will provide a link here to the site my daughter sent me too. I was concerned about the vaccines for the grandchildren. I still am but I’m also worried about them contracting any influenza as they are all very young, two of them under a year old.

My children follow Dr. Sears recommendations because he tends to be more conservative and recommends spacing out vaccines. We have a history of auto-immune disease in our family so we naturally are concerned about over-doing things.

The different vaccines are all listed on the site and what is contained in them so you are getting valid information. Maybe it will be helpful. Or not. Your choice.

I do believe that if you choose to work in a health care facility you have to follow the guidelines and requirements that they set to protect their patients. If you are not comfortable with that you should not seek employment at that facility. Not all of them have those requirements.

I would be willing to be that every nurse in that facility has been at least required to have a hepatitis vaccine. The reasons for requiring vaccines for healthcare workers is pretty obvious.

So is it in their employment contract that they must take any innoculation that the state demands or be fired? Are these people guinea pigs?

The worst-case scenario is that the vaccine would leave them shedding virii while caring for an unvaccinated public. Instant epidemic.

Now, that may be just my Reynolds Chapeau Moment, or not.

Thank you CG. I’m pretty familiar with the information you provided. However, I do need to disagree with you on the squalene. Now, not all the vaccines contain the live virus, which is supposed to be contained to only flumist. But, there are many manufacturers of this vaccine worldwide. Perhaps there are differences in other countries.

From everything I have read this is the first time squalene is being used in a vaccine for US citizens. It was used on soldiers during the 1st gulf war, but not since then. I understand we can opt out of the thermisol (mercury), but the squalene is standard in the h1n1 vaccine. If you can find some other information, please let me know. WHO seems to support this finding as well.

In reference to WHO - I should have been more clear. WHO does acknowledge the use of squalene in vaccines. I did not notice they said this one. But, at this point, Medical professionals are supporting that information.

I pray for good health for you and your family. I am sure it was a difficult decision to make (not to get the extra vaccine), but it sounds like a reasonable decision considering what you have said.

Could you tell us what state this occurred in? Was this the H1 swine flu shot that you’re referring to?
