President Barack Obama “wants the country to fail,” legendary singer Andy Williams [1] declared in flipping Rush Limbaugh's hope that Obama “fails” in his quest to enact left-wing policies, a remark which enraged liberals and the media for weeks. In an interview published in the October 3-9 edition of Radio Times [2] magazine, the TV and radio program guide for the BBC which carries re-runs of Williams' 1960s NBC variety show, the 81-year-old Williams didn't hide his feelings about Obama: “Don't like him at all.”
London's Telegraph, in a September 28 article [3] highlighted by the DrudgeReport [4], quoted from the interview which is not online. Williams starkly denounced Obama's world view:
I think he wants to create a socialist country. The people he associates with are very left-wing. One is registered as a communist. Obama is following Marxist theory. He's taken over the banks and the car industry. He wants the country to fail.
The “registered communist” is presumably a reference to Van Jones.
Politically, Williams is best-known as a friend of Robert and Ethel Kennedy who was at the Ambassador hotel when Kennedy was assassinated and sang Battle Hymn of the Republic at Kennedy's funeral.
Williams may pop up elsewhere in the media as he promotes an October 5 performance in London, a new season of the “Andy Williams All-Star Variety Show [5]” at his “Moon River Theater [6]” in Branson, Missouri (followed by his annual Christmas show) and the mid-October release of his new book, Moon River and Me: A Memoir [7].
Let's hope interviewers prompt him to elaborate on his evaluation of Obama.

You have it exactly right...get the GOP and FIX it. We do not need a third party..because all that would do is assure Obama of another term. It is doubtful America can survive a full four years of this guy. Everyday he assumes power over something else.
Why would Zero want this country to succeed after all it was built on God ,Hard Work, Sacrifice and Intellect!!! The EXACT opposite from His ability and beliefs.
Since he’s Hollywood, they’ll call him “raysiss” in a loving manner:
“He grew up in the era of Jim Crow. He’s a product of his upbringing and culture. He can’t help it.”

It is always great to learn that an entertainer that you admire for their talents also has a brain.
While his music is a generation earlier than mine, I still admire his incredible voice, his Christmas specials and the closeness with his family.
Wasn’t “Moon River” Andy’s greatest hit...cannot remember? He was always a good crooner, but some of his greatest hits slip my recall button.
Yes, he did a terrific version of “Moon River.”
Interestingly, Moon River wasn’t really his biggest hit. His was one of many versions released at the time, but the two hit versions were by Henry Mancini and Jerry Butler. It only became identified with Andy after he used it as the theme song on one of his TV shows.
