Oh joy. Please God, help us relocate by then.....
COLOGNE, Germany The Federation of Gay Games announced this afternoon that Cleveland will be the site of the 2014 games.
The city was chosen over Boston and Washington, D.C., after a year-long site-selection process, the organization said in a news release issued at 1 p.m.
"Cleveland demonstrated to the Federation of Gay Games that they understood the mission of the Gay Games and our principles of Participation, Inclusion, and Personal Best," said Kurt Dahl, of Chicago, and Emy Ritt, of Paris, FGG Co-presidents.

Not the MOST liberal place in America. San Francisco would be far more logical.

How can this be “inclusive” if they are specifically for gay people?

Not the MOST liberal place in America. San Francisco would be far more logical.True, but if the standard was one of awfulness rather than liberal dominance, San Francisco is still too nice a locale. On the other hand, and in fairness to Cleveland (where I once lived), Gary, Indiana might have been a better choice.

Participation, Inclusion, and Personal BestGee, wonder where they got that motto?

The movie was praised by critics for providing a realistic look at the world of women's athletics, for exploring the complex relationships that can exist among teammates and their coach, and for its sensitive portrayal of the relationship between an older lesbian (Donnelly) and a younger bisexual woman (Hemingway)

Thanks, after having grown up in Cleveland and seeing it go through a lot, it is a great city, lots of immigrants 30 years or so ago.
Like any large American city, it has a major ghetto with the major DEm Plantation and thug mentality. Going through certain areas, we never stopped for red lights.

In the early 1980’s a town in Wyoming was able to stop a gay rodeo when county commissioners argued that mosquitoes would bite spectators then fly into town and bite residents, spreading AIDS.

One would think even gay athletes at the highest level would want to be the best-in-the-world and not be reduced to best-in-the-world-among-a-much-smaller-population competition.
This is like defeating senior citizen mall walkers in a foot race. The talent pool is reduced. Compete with everyone and make it a real contest for fastest and strongest.
I'm thinking it is more an excuse to hook-up socially. My advice is to avoid Cleveland hotels around that time.
All sorts of weird things will be happening. Not that there is anything wrong with that! ;-)
