I saw that same poster while walking by an Old Navy a few days ago.
Well I sent them a little email from their site to ask if they also think it was not “rape-rape” or whether they just condone people who feel it was not really a bad thing.

Women tried to bring attention to rape as a serious crime for decades. So they changed their tactic. They argued that rape is a violent crime, not a crime about sex, but violence.
So now- apologists try to distinguish a difference between one rape from another rape. In their minds, if the victim was not threatened by a knife or gun, or beat up, etc- then it is not violent, not “really a rape”
I would love to hear Whoopi call Oprah and tell Oprah that her child rape wasn’t really a rape...I mean if the victim in this case was some Hollywood elitist and the rapist were some rich Republican that fled for thirty years, there would be an entirely different tone.....

I came to the Toys R Us website to shop for two of our children's birthdays and to look for Christmas presents, and saw Whoopi Goldberg on the main page.
I find it beyond disgusting that you are prominently advertising Ms. Goldberg, who has been featured on every news station today, claiming that Roman Polanski's drugging and rape of a 13 year old girl, for which *he* *was* *convicted* wasn't actually "rape".
Far be it for me to tell you how to do business, but I can tell you this: I will not be doing business with a toy store who thinks using an apologist for child rape is a good idea.
I will be boycotting Toys R Us until you remove Ms. Goldberg from your advertising and will be asking my friends, family, and co-workers to do so as well.
Featuring this person on a toy store's website is vile ans disgusting. Have you no shame?

Even if all this is true (and don't get me wrong, I'm not saying any of it is!) it doesn't excuse the fact that he had relations with a minor who was 30 years younger than him!
Sad to say, Whoopi, but that's RAPE, no matter the circumstances. What part of "age of consent" do you not understand? Regardless of Samantha's actions, he RAPED her by legal definition. If Polansky walks, there are thousands of statutory rapists serving time who are being imprisoned unjustly. Would you like them released in your grandchildren's neighborhood?
