The grand jury transcripts of the sex abuse case paint a far more damaging picture of the events that allegedly unfolded between the director and a 13-year-old girl at Jack Nicholson's home in 1977.
: Did you resist at that time?
A: A little bit, but not really because . . .
Q: Because what?
A: Because I was afraid of him.
That's Roman Polanski's 13-year-old victim testifying before a grand jury about how the famous director forced himself on her at Jack Nicholson's Mulholland Drive home in March of 1977.
I'm reading this in the district attorney's office at the Los Angeles County Criminal Courts Building, digging through the Polanski file to refresh my memory of the infamous case, and my blood pressure is rising.
Is it because I'm the parent of a girl?
Maybe that's part of it.
But I wish the renowned legal scholars Harvey Weinstein and Debra Winger, to name just two of Polanski's defenders, were here with me now. I'd like to invite Martin Scorsese, as well, along with David Lynch, who have put their names on a petition calling for Polanski to be freed immediately.
What, because he won an Oscar? Would they speak up for a sex offender who hadn't?
To hear these people tell it, you'd think Polanski was the victim rather than the teenager.
And then there's Woody Allen, who has signed the petition too.
Woody Allen?
You'd think that after marrying his longtime girlfriend's adopted daughter, he'd have the good sense to remain silent. But at least Soon-Yi Previn was a consenting adult.
I'd like to show all these great luminaries the testimony from Polanski's underage victim, as well as Polanski's admission of guilt.

where can I find a list of famous people who are defending this guy
Wonder what Jack Nicholson has to say, haven’t heard from him yet. Hollywood is depraved.
Apparently, Angelica Huston knew about it at the time.
Check out all the anti-Polansky comments here. The Polansky defenders are getting the wrath of the people

Wonder what Jack Nicholson has to say, havent heard from him yet. Hollywood is depraved........
My guess is he sort of knew about Polanski’s predilections for the kiddies. This rape came 8 years after the Manson murders of Sharon Tate and others
No kidding. Not only Roman, but Woody as well, was known to wallow in his own perverted little mud puddle. This is what happens when people throw away their moral compass in favour of gratifying their twisted passions.
"To every man is given the key to the gates of heaven. The same key opens the gates of hell."
He supposedly called his buddy, the Governor of CAL-E-FORN-EA, to see if he could help.
Do we know for sure when Woody Allen became sexual with Soon Yi?
Spector could teach him to play Russian, er Polish roulette.
I just don’t understand why you don’t hear any celebrities (apart from French director Luc Besson) saying they won’t support him. I mean, even the ones like Whoopi Goldberg qualifying different categories of rape are completely ignoring the age aspect. 43-year-olds can’t have sex with 13-year-olds or take nude photos of them, no matter how “consensual” Whoopi wants to imply it was. This is a child, not even close to the age of consent.
It would be interesting to see the response of Jack Nicholson if some daring reporter were to ask him “Jack? Polanski raped and sodomized that 13 year old girl in your home, did your homeowner’s insurance cover that injury, and if so, for how much?”
Okay, I retract some of my previous post, I just took a look over at Huffington Post and all four front page articles about the case are anti-Polanski. Restoring my faith in people just a bit.

Why Robert Harris’ NY Times Pro-Polanski Op-Ed Is an Offensive, Self-Serving Disgrace
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/andy-ostroy/why-robert-harriss-iny-ti_b_304100.html
“Like many in Hollywood and throughout the rest of the entertainment world, novelist Robert Harris has raced to the defense of child-rapist and international fugitive Roman Polanski, his pal and creative collaborator. In his NY Times op-ed piece Wednesday, “Why Arrest Roman Polanski Now?,” Harris desperately attempts, as have so many others in the past several days, to create a mind-numbing smokescreen around the central issue of this case: that an innocent, defenseless, drugged and alcohol-plied 13-year-old was sexually violated in every orifice of her body. A despicable act which is very clearly prohibited by very specific law.”
I suspect his defenders have his victim in plain sight, they haven’t lost sight of her at all. They just don’t think there’s anything wrong with an grown man raping a drugged 13 year old girl.
Jack Nicholson should have been arrested too.
Great Artists and trash with money tend to create their own moral universe.
Most of these so-called actors are trash with money.
Nicholson wasn’t there.
Yep, you got that right, Venturer. Very rare for actors to have attended university, and yet they parade themselves around as intellectuals on hundreds of issues. What is even more astonishing is the gullibility of the general public who lap up their every word, confusing the actor's involvement for genuine concern, when it is simply publicity to further their sordid careers.
Incroyable! ...as the French say.
Re#5 Boy, the comments were heartening. Ms. Applebaum has really stepped into it. It’s a good thing.
Freepers could have written those comments. Matter of fact I did put in my own 2 cents worth which I’ve never done before at Washington Post
[Nicholson wasnt there.]
No, he wasn’t, but Anjelica Houston was.
Good for you. HuffPo got slammed hard too for siding with the child rapist.
