A Cape Girardeau police officer got more than he bargained for when he answered a call about shots fired.
What he found when he arrived was a large street fight.
As you can see, when he went to arrest one suspect a woman approaches the officer.
He pushed her away and when she came back again swinging, the officer punched her.
The Cape Girardeau Police Chief stands by what the officer did saying there's always a fear that a person will go for the officer's weapon.
"Of course the major fear is that person may try to go for the weapon or the taser or one of the other weapons that the officer is carrying so you are always trained to keep anyone as far away from you as possible," says Chief Carl Kinnison.
Kinnison says this type of incident between officers and resident happens about six times a year, but is rarely caught on camera.
This is what happens when you kick God out of schools, the State replaces fatherhood, and the entitlement "Gimme mo" syndrome sinks in.
Also: Kudos to those citizens who tried to help the officers!
Obama voters just being Obama voters. Frankly they are damned lucky. The officer might have shot them and it would have been quite justified.

He had one he was trying to take into custody, and was being hampered in that job by another - I think that would justify a really good shot of OC/10%. It doesn't always work on the big ones that are doped up (or sometimes even the little ones that are doped up) but it sure will "cut the switch off" on some of the ones like this.
IMO: The amount of pepper spray a perpetrator receives, and the amount of time it takes to clear (with water) the perpetrator's eyes is directly proportional to the lengths they went to in order to be an @$$hole...

I was on a ride along with an Little Rock cop. We got into a situation similar to this and a female balled her fist up and raised it to strike. The cop said, "Mam, if you make a fist like a man, I'll beat you like a man"....needless to say, it was all for show with the other idiots in the crowd.

Your crime statistics are skewed by and isolated to distinct areas of inner city blacks, like this particular slum area in Cape Girardeau.
It has NOTHING to do with the vast majority of white surburbanites in the Midwest, who easily avoid these areas and live quite peaceably in the family friendly suburbs.

It is quite clear just who is on edge, has a thin skin and has an agenda.
You ignore the major point about the distinct, isolated nature of these crime pockets.
Now, I have long been a big admirer of many (but certainly not all) things California from here in the midwest, but I can just as easily post an array of statistics which show that viewed as a whole, the state of California is a downward-spiraling cesspool. However, viewed realistically, I know, that many areas of that HUGE state remain wonderful places to live.
Missouri is a big place as well. The “midwest” is even bigger.
You can learn a lot by going on a ride along. I've ridden with my brother and sister several times and once with another officer from their department. I've definitely learn what NOT to due when dealing with a cop.

As stated before, you know NOTHING about the demographics and utter separation of St. Louis city and county.
You can get a boner over your colorful graphs, but your big blue line is driven entirely by inner city blacks in a very discrete, realatively small and isolated area that I, like most suburbanites never go near.
They have as much relevance to me in suburban St. Louis as they do to you 2000 miles away.
I used to be a hellion, rebel speeder with a detesting of cops when I was in my teens and 20s. Only when one of my close friends became a cop, and I did a ride along did I really learn what it meant to be on "the thin blue line". I have nothing but admiration for most law enforcement (Less ATF ....but thats another story).
"Please", "Thank you", and "Have a nice day" are how I talk to all cops....and for some reason, I still drive the same, but get less tickets due to being respectful.

I’m no fan of the police as currently constituted, but in this case I’d say the cop was fully justified in using violence. Tweaked-up hillbillies can only be dealt with by violence, unfortunately.
PROTIP: When answering a “shots fired” call, let dog out of car first, then exit with your own gun in hand.
Oh, I believe it. The countryside of America is crawling with wild-eyed Wal-Mart savages that would just as soon kill you as look at you, which is one of the main reasons I live in a big city. East Texas, for example, is chock full of God-fearing, church-going, Rapture-awaiting white people who shoot, chop, run over, and beat the brains out of each other at the drop of a Skoal-strained foam trucker hat. Ditto for black country folk. And as for our proud Native American brothers and sisters — well, Idabel, Oklahoma is the only place I’ve ever seen a cop take out his gun and fire it at someone. You do the math.
By contrast, here in the inner city where I live, violent crime is rare — mostly ghetto kids doing the ghetto kid thing and white trash tweakers beating their wives and kids. Sure, we have typical urban smash-and-grab property crime, but violent crime? Not really. We’re all too heavily armed, for one thing, and it’s a lot harder to hide a body here. I could sleep in my front yard if I wanted to.
