Louisiana Republican Gov. Bobby Jindal urged his party Tuesday to shift to offering health care solutions instead of just rejecting what [Alleged] President Barack Obama and the Democratic majority in Congress are proposing.
I think now is the perfect time to pivot and to say, not only heres what were against, and not only heres how were going to contrast ourselves, but heres what were for, Jindal said in an interview with POLITICO.
Jindal acknowledged that the Republican Party for years had been too slow to stake out positions on the health care debate to our peril and the nations peril.
I think that in some circles, it was viewed as a Democratic issue, said Jindal, who served in top posts at the Department of Health and Human Services during the Bush administration and ran his states health department in the 90s.
Jindal urged congressional Republicans to go to the White House and find common ground with Obama.
Lets start anew, he said they should tell the president. Were willing to work with you in a bipartisan way.

Conservatives to Jindal : Go To Hell
There goes another RINO for McCain’s party ....
What an ass. The republican party is in terrible shape.
And the moon is made of green cheese.
Sheesh
Pissant to Jindal. STFU
I’ve defended Jindal before in this forum, but he’s on his own with this foolishness.
So much for him.
Um, how about....NO!!!!!
Bipartisanship = Do whatever the RINOs / Dems want
NO COMPROMISE!!!!!!!
Please make it stop.
Jindal just disqualified himself.
Oh for chissakes!
Had my doubts about the guy long time ago.
blech. He ought to mind the business of LA.
Jindal jumps the shark
Jindal just eliminated himself from any future ticket.
Obama has not met with any GOP congressmen since May.
Thats the Bipartisanship Obama was talking about, Yeah, Right.
I highly doubt that *politico* is accurately reporting what Jindal had to say about this.
The conservatives and the GOP are winning the health care argument and this yahoo chimes in with THIS CRAP??
People have been fronting this guy for the next GOP presidential candidate. No... We need FEWER guys like him.
APf
You are disappointing me, Bobby.
So, on this matter, ignore him. We know the Democrats want no suggestions ~ although they are beginning to wake up to the fact that the sort of program they are pushing can be totally destroyed simply with failure of a future House of Representatives to "fund it" in an appropriations bill.

That’s why it gets so infuriating and depressing....folk like him and YES even Wilson who gave into the RINOS and apologized to the bastard RATS!! A third party? YOU BETCHA!! It’s starting to look better every passing day!
Politico has mastered the art of writing articles designed to split and divide conservatives and in particular agitate some of the conservatives who simply read misleading article titles to go into a tirade against other conservative.
Shame on the conservatives who believe the Politico and fall in their trap.
Scratch another “good solid Conservative” off the list!
Sheez, Jindal! It’s not that Republicans haven’t offered to work with ZER0, it’s that he hasn’t bothered to work with THEM! Plus, any Republican willing to compromise to 0bummer’s vision for America is a traitor!
GOP is in great shape.
Sarah Palin a front runner and her book #1
Good Republicans running in 2010 and a take over in NJ, VA, and other states.
For Conservative Republicans, better shape than in a long time.
I wonder if people here actually just read the title instead of the full article anymore..
You’re probably right.
And ... why is a third party out of the question again ... when it’s becoming more and more clear that the GOP is useless?
Dear Governor Jindal,
If I, a lowly FReeper, can find a dozen health care proposals and ammendments offered by Republicans in a simple Google search why can’t you or anyone in your staff? If you need competent research help please put up a thread on Free Republic and we can find people to fill the positions that your staff does not seem able to handle.
Sincerely,
Pan_Yan
I knew there was a reason why I kept ignoring the pleas to join with Bobby Jindal on Facebook. I have added as a friend or joined with Mike Pence, Jim DeMint, and Sarah Palin.
Jindal is Moderate at best. There is absolutely no punch in his politics.
What the wha? How could..? Why would he say..? Has he been on vacation in Belize since June? He must be getting his advice from Lincoln Chafee. Wow.
I'm with ya. I heard him on TV earlier this week and couldn't believe it was the Jindal, I came to know and respect, speaking. Why don't the dems come our way and us not always the ones that compromise. Conservatives and Repubs in Congress need to stick to their guns and defeat this Obamanation. Or, at least, let the dems go it alone.
Thank goodness he won’t be running for POTUS. Another nerd, along with Pawlenty, Huck, Mitt and Perry we don’t need.
Cause third parties are for losers....
Yeah...I read it and guess what? He is a dumba$$! Enough with trying to work with these clowns!
Did you read the article? He said to opose Zero’s plan and counter with our own ideas. He basically said there could be a bi-partisan bill as long as the liberals agree with OUR ideas. Pretty sly if you ask me.
I like Bobby Jindal a great deal. I’d have to read more about this before condemning him.
Stop wondering.
Apparently Bobby missed the part where Republicans have tried to work with Obama and Democrat’s (to our dismay) and were shown the door.
Maybe Palin can respond by urging Obama and the Dims to find common ground with the Republicans.
Your candidate Hunter is going to get a** creamed again if he runs...
Looks like another one went to the dark side
He’s a lightweight. Period.
I vote for (b).

White House seizes on Jindal comments
Jindal = RINO. Good. We can end this arguements where people say he is a natural born citizen.
The GOP has offered plans and the Dems ignore them.
Another one bites the dust.
Sly? Do you really think for a second that these fools will work with the GOP? Are you serious?
I don’t. This isn’t the first time.

Gov. Jindal: Obama is inspiring
Jindal gives no blessing in presidential race
by Bill Barrow, The Times-Picayune
Wednesday February 06, 2008, 9:00 PM
BATON ROUGE Gov. Bobby Jindal, a rising star in national Republican circles, said he will make no endorsement in Saturdays GOP presidential preference primary.
The newly inaugurated governor nonetheless has plenty to say about the presidential field, reserving his most glowing praise for Democratic U.S. Sen. Barack Obama of Illinois, the lone rival left for New York Sen. Hillary Clinton in their partys nominating process.
He just has an enthusiasm and genuineness about him that makes you want to like the guy, Jindal said of Obama. Im not here to endorse him, (but) I do find his rhetoric inspiring. Its a good thing for the country that youve got someone talking the way that he talks about bringing us together.
Jindal, a former U.S. House member who said he has had encounters with most of the leading candidates in both parties, said he remembers Obama introducing himself near the House chamber in early 2005, a move the governor said is atypical of a senator. Senators dont come to introduce themselves to House members 99 other senators walk around D.C. like they own the place, Jindal said.
Jindal, making a point to mention all of the candidates, said Clinton treated him graciously when he testified in front of a Senate committee about health care policy when he worked in the Bush administration. You get the sense shes very professional very prepared, he said. What you see on TV is what shes like in private. Shes a really smart woman who says things and does things on purpose.
Within his own party, Jindal said he admires Arizona Sen. John McCain as a principled figure. You never get the sense hes trying to appease you, kiss up to you for your vote, Jindal said.
Jindal said he has a soft place for former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, whom the governor described as something of a technocrat who enjoys discussing policy nuances traits often used to describe Jindal.
The governor said he has never met Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee but lauded the GOP long shot for telling his Cabinet officers to assist Louisiana however they could after Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. A governor from a neighboring state said, pardon my language, Screw the rules, just go help those people, Jindal said. I wish FEMA had done that.
