He made lots of fun of Sarah Palin’s appearance, and I always suspected that it was because he had been turned down flat by lots of beautiful women and resented them. Looks like he had to pressure subordinates to fulfill his fantasies.
That said, I suspect the “staff member” was Larry ‘Bud’ Melman, who used to be on the NBC version of his show (back when Dave was actually kind of funny).
