(CNN) -- Whenever President Obama has traveled overseas and offered pointed and direct assessments of the United States, some of them critical, Republicans have ripped him for criticizing America, saying a president should always defend the United States.
So I want to hear the explanation by these so-called patriots of their giddy behavior over the United States losing the 2016 Olympic Games.
Yes, the United States. The bid that was rejected Friday by the International Olympic Committee was not a Chicago, Illinois, bid. It was the official bid submitted by the United States Olympic Committee and was representative of the nation. Tokyo's bid was that of Japan; Madrid's was that of Spain; and Rio de Janeiro's was that of Brazil.
Republicans want to spin the decision as a massive loss by President Obama and the Democrats who have always controlled Chicago politics.

this super silly defense of the Lib wackos that we lost the Olympics because of Bush is utterly absurd......if that were the case, then how did Chicago get to be in the 4 finalists? YOu do realize that the 4 finalists were selected DURING Bush’s administration? In fact, Chicago and Rio were discussed widely as being the forerunners.....UNTIL the disgusting pieces of trash husband and wife team of the Usurper and Mrs. Bitter opened their lying mouths.....THAT was when the IOC saw their egos, their selfishness, their lying. When Michelle said that she sat on her daddy’s lap watching Carl Lewis......did she not think that the IOC, who are very familiar with Olympic athletes and can do simple math in their head....did she not think that they would see right through her lying words?
Chicago lost the Olympics due to the Usurper, plain and simple. And Roland, we laugh and laugh and laugh because it is the ultimate act of narcissim to go about the world thinking that your appearance will make the difference, when in fact it made it worse. And we laugh also because we are thrilled that the US did NOT get the Olympics....our country is in deep debt and we are thrilled that the expensive, corruption laden Olympics went to someonoe else.
Finally, we laugh and laugh because it is such pleasure to see the LIbs in astonishment at their messiah failing.

When 2016 rolls around, I’ll be cheering for the US athletes in participation as much as anyone, but I really don’t see why I should care if Chicago lost its Olympic bid. I don’t live there and had they won, all it would likely mean is that my federal tax dollars would go to support the enrichment of Obama’s political allies in the Chicago area who undoubtedly would’ve been the biggest beneficiaries. No thanks.

If the Olympics had gone to Chicago, it would have turned into a huge money pit for the American taxpayer... and a huge windfall for the uber-corrupt Chicago political machine that produced Obama and burdened the rest of the nation with him and his ilk.

I don’t remember CNN having these type of stories when Murtha and various congressional slimeballs were stating the Iraq war was lost.
