Donald Trump Aide Accuses Scottish Councillor Of Racism
An aide to tycoon Donald Trump has accused Scottish councillor Sam Coull of making a racist remark after he was sent a letter mocking his New Jersey accent.

Mr Trump’s development director, George Sorial, said Mr Coull, a Peterhead councillor, had sent a letter on council-headed paper in which had written “Noo Joysee” instead of “New Jersey”.
Mr Sorial, who was born in the UK, said he was “insulted personally” and claimed it was racist.
The councillor also made the same jibe in an email sent to Mr Trump’s legal and international development associate Daniel Borbet.
The messages were sent amid a planning row over Mr Trump’s plans to build a £1 billion golf resort in Aberdeenshire.
Plans for the Menie Estate development, which include two courses, a hotel, 500 houses and 950 holiday homes, were unveiled almost three years ago.
The proposal has attracted opposition from environmentalists, with part of one course to be built within an area of sensitive sand dunes. Last month, Mr Trump successfully applied to use an extra five plots of land, which include private homes, for his development.
Mr Trump’s latest application has received dozens of objections and two homeowners have refused to sell their property.
In a letter written in response to an invitation by the Trump Organisation for Mr Coull to view plans for the site, the councillor wrote: “Only a few weeks ago, your Mr Sorial was reported in The Scotsman newspaper as describing myself and three colleagues as scoundrels.
“’Scoundrel’ may be a term of endearment in Noo Joysee and scoundrels very probably abound the streets and tower blocks there. But I have never met your Mr Sorial.

The Joisey accent was created for the sole purpose to be made fun of. There is no standing in this case.
The Trump guy is a snarkey little man and probably out of his league.
I've used worse terms than "scoundrel" in similar situations and both parties got out alive.
Trump ought to cut losses by firing the latter and dropping the project in honor of the former.
Whether or not New Jersey is a separate race is a question one might well avoid asking in New York.

New Jersey thugs may come in various colors, but as a group they’re clearly an inferior race.
A year ago I placed an open house ad in the WaPo. Part of the text described the renovated kitchen which included a white tile floor. Color is important as most don’t want a dark colored tile floor. [Bright/sunny sells] The very nice ad person told me I couldn’t use the term ‘white’.
‘For cryin’ out loud’, I said, ‘it’s an INANIMATE object. How can that be racist?’ She agreed and we laughed at the absurdity of the situation. Ended up using ‘light’ although we did contemplate ‘absent of pigment’ [too many costly letters]
