BUENOS AIRES (AFP) – Drought could parch close to 70 percent of the planet's soil by 2025 unless countries implement policies to slow desertification, a senior United Nations official has warned.

I love the short time lines of some of these predictions as we will see none of this come to pass.

Interesting, since I read recently that the Sahel (SubSahara region)is greening up by itself.

I am sick of these liberal pukes spouting out the most absurd nonsense and having it taken seriously by ANYONE.

Really, I keep expecting a Government edict one morning that blue is now to be called red, because red offends American Indians and if they’re offended the eco-system will be forever demolished and all life on Mother Earth will expire in 2015 at 12:05 P.M. (unless Barack Hussein Obama (m.m.m.) is still President then, and can save us all).

The sad thing is that there are probably people who read this drivel and start quaking in their boots. If this was an actual trend (which I don’t believe), there is no way in Hell that a “green deal” is going to make the slightest difference.

UN warns of 70 percent desertification by 2025

I'd like to see 100 percent desertification of the UN from U.S. soil by the end of the first week of Oct. of '09.

Yet, you NEVER see anyone, in the MSM or otherwise, calling these morons on their predictions when they don’t come true. Someone should stop by Ted Danson’s house and ask him about all his hysterical claims about the present from 10 years back.

In the old days, Biblical times, drought was fought by sack cloth and ashes, a renewal of desire to attribute what isn’t drought to the Great God in Heaven and plead for his mercy by humbling oneself to live as the ten commandments “suggested”.

I don’t really care about Ted either. Its just that (about a decade ago), he was making some pretty vocal and hystical claims about what would happen in the next 10 years. You can probably fill in the blanks with any number of names. Right now, Prince Charles seems to be the leading celebrity hysteric.

*Jimmy Stewart voice* Well now, wait a minute. /Jimmy Stewart voice.

If the world is warming, this is bad news for deserts. We know for absolute certain from observed changes to the geological record (not from computer models) that during warm periods, deserts shrink as there is more evaporation from the seas.

Is this a roundabout way of telling us that global warming is not happening?

These people are so predictable and disgusting at the same time.
Most of all, if G-d so desired - desertification could take place. As for these predictions of man, they are scare tactics in order for a One World Government to form out of the United Nations.

The good news is: G-d is 'still' in control.

When CO2 levels are high plants become more efficient at water utilization and deserts recede. When CO2 levels are low. Deserts grow.

So if they are so worried about desertification, the solution is simple. Raise the CO2 level. Oh wait, that then what could they scare people with co2 and fake global warming crap.

Do any of these people take science classes, understand the scientific method or just plain read?

If red offends “Native Americans” (you erred by using the offensive term American indians) then we can’t have blue either because it might remind people of the expression “beaten black and blue” which is offensive to “African Americans” because of their skin color and because of the music they originated called “the Blues”. Also blue is the color associated with little boys’ bedrooms and this leads to a male dominated society which cannot be allowed to happen. Thinking about this problem has led me to conclude that there are no inoffensive colors so the only solution is for the whole world to be bleached...no, wait, that won’t work either.

What we need is a cap and trade system for offense taking so that we can be certain that everyone is equally offended, then there will be no reason for anyone to complain.

Green wind farms increase desertification and climate change downwind. It’s not possible to extract gigawatts of energy from the surface wind and have no climate change. They never mention that. Coal power plants reduce desertification, by feeding plants and inducing more cloud cover.

“implement policies”, huh?

What kind of policies?

Might those policies involve stealing hundreds of billions of dollars from productive Americans and sending them to the corrupt UN?
