What's good enough for Rep. William Jefferson is good enough for Rep. Charles Rangel, some say

Some House Republicans are calling on House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to follow the same logic dealing with Ways and Means Committee Chairman Charles Rangel, D-N.Y., that she did in 2006 when she persuaded the House Democratic caucus to remove then Rep. William Jefferson, D-New Orleans, from the panel.

Rep. John Carter, R-Tx., has been alluding to the Jefferson action as he sought to force Rangel's ouster over alleged ethical and financial lapses. Pelosi successfully sought Jefferson's removal after disclosures FBI agents found $90,000 in his freezer. She said Jefferson could get the post back if he were acquitted of corruption charges. Unfortunately for Jefferson, he lost his re-election bid in December, 2008 and was convicted Aug. 5 of 11 of 16 corruption charges by a Virginia jury.

Carter said it's time for Pelosi to take the same action against Rangel, and that he'll try to force the issue with a privileged resolution.

**SNIP**

Rangel insisted his mistakes were inadvertent and that he'll be cleared by the House Ethics Committee. Pelosi says she continues to have confidence in Rangel and will wait for a report by the Ethics Committee before recommending action.

Until the MSM decides that this is an important story...nothing is gonna happen to Charley. Face it...he’s got a lot of influence with the corporate media. As long as folks are afraid of him he’s gonna survive.

The Democrat Culture of Corruption continues.

Of course, any Republicans that bring up Rangel in the 2010 election will be accused of being racists. On the other hand, any Republicans that don’t bring up Rangel in the 2010 election will also be accused of being racists.

I say make Rangel one of the Democrat Corruption poster boys (along with Murtha, Jackson, Waters, Dodd, Pelosi and Reid).

You don't know how correct your are. I have a long standing back and forth with a fellow I used to work with, a good union type and proud supporter of Move On, Koss, etc. We have been discussing democrat corruption including Dodd. Here is his justicfication for their corruption:

Oh come on now, you as well as I know, that we have Senators and Congressmen are not really of the highest cut, but these shills in the Lobbying Industry are the lowest of the Low Life. In some cases they have been Senators and/or Congressmen, hence the revolving door policy in Washington. "

He doesn't see where a member of congress has any obligation to be honest. This is how the left thinks.

And that’s why the left and liberals do not pay the taxes that they expect and demand everybody else do.

“He doesn’t see where a member of congress has any obligation to be honest.”

Liberals have only to be Liberals in order to be perfect and free of any blame. It’s anyone who disagrees with them who is corrupt, sinful, full of blame and fault, and without any redeeming value. (The putrid stew they’ve been serving up is getting rather tiresome.)

IMHO
