Congressman blames Bush for Chicago's Olympics defeat (Rep. Bobby Rush D-IL)
The Hill ^ | October 4, 2009 | Michael O'Brien

Posted on 10/04/2009 1:27:35 PM PDT by maggief

EXCERPT

"I believe that [Friday]'s action is just the latest example of the cultural breach that still exists between the United States and several leaders of the global community of nations," Rush said in a statement Friday which was not received by The Hill until Sunday.

"[Friday}'s vote by the IOC members reflects the tattered relationships that remain after eight years of the catastrophic reign of the Bush administration," Rush continued. "It will obviously take some time for the Obama administration to continue its important work to repair that breach."

If the OIC is truly happy that Obama is NOW President why wouldn’t they consider Chicago? Doesn’t make sense. The OIC is in the present while the Dems are in the past.

Oh, BS, people are sick of the arrogant narcissist and his expectations of SELF agrandisement. They’re acting like this is the first time he’s been rejected, when he’s been rejected by the whole European Union states, and every one of our allies on every one if his ridiculous policies.

How many times do they all have to reject him before he finally gets it? Or will that ever happen, since he claims so many victories that have never happened?

Bobby Rush

"..Bobby Lee Rush (born November 23, 1946, Albany, Georgia) is an American politician from Illinois. A Democrat, he has served in the United States House of Representatives as the member from Illinois' 1st congressional district since 1993. Rush's district is located principally on the South Side of Chicago. It is a minority-majority district and has a higher percentage of African Americans (65%) than any other congressional district in the nation. Rush has the distinction of being the only person to date to defeat President Barack Obama in an election for public office.[citation needed] Rush is a member of the Congressional Black Caucus.

In 1968 Rush went AWOL from the U.S. Army, co-founded the state's Black Panther Party and later was honorably discharged. [1] The following year he served six months in prison for illegal possession of firearms.[2].."

Wow,really? And silly me thought it was all the crime, like Derion Albert for instance, getting his brains bashed in with a board by some thug.

I`m sure the IOC wouldn`t mind having to inform a family back home that their loved one got the Derion treatment too.

I didn’t, but as a nation we complied with the Obama demand to elect him so the rest of the world would love us again.

I don’t know about anyone else, but I saw a whole lot of love coming out of that IOC decision. Didn’t everyone...

Obama couldn’t reach Bush’s shoe laces, and Bush wasn’t a real prize either. That’s how low we have become.

Obama is the worlds laughing stock at this moment. They can spin it any way they like, when the buffoon is off U.S. soil, that spin stops and reality sets in.

The U.S. loses as a result. When Obama is shown to be the child he is, who really loses? You and I do folks. Our nation does.

Come on November 2010, better yet January 2011.

Sorry...nine months into the mad march to marxism is plenty long enough for the 0bamunists to drop the notion that everything bad is Bush’s fault. We’re not buying it, anymore.

It’s time to take back the country.

The people of Ill. need a Sarah Palin, to come in their and clean up that cesspool they call a govt. Come to think of it, several states could use one.

Perhaps we need “Help Wanted” signs on the borders of those states. Surely many who have served and honored their country in any number of ways would be willing to serve again, and help us clean up these places. But they will have to be willing and able to reach the masses with a positive honest message that would get them the votes.

He also highlighted the reception that Rep. Bobby Rush, D-Ill., has planned Thursday evening with African ambassadors.

“These 17 African nations are really the swing votes” with the IOC, Daley said.

There are more than a dozen IOC members from Africa, and they are a special focus for the Chicago bid because they are thought not to have an allegiance to any of the rival cities. To that end, key members of Congress — including Illinois’ Bobby Rush , whose district takes in proposed Olympic venues — hosted a reception Thursday for Africa’s ambassadors to the U.S. “I think they were wooed,” said Jarrett, who attended the gathering.

Yes of course! No matter what, it is all Bush’s Fault (read: we can’t do anything right so blame it all on the predecessor). Traditional liberal paradises like detroit and chicago breed situations like the killing of that honor student — daily.

The TOTUS-reading self-styled messiah thinks he can walk into the room and everyone will genuflect and begin singing hosannas.

He fills speeches full of “America Sucks (until ME came along) and he and his amazingly ugly and tacky wife toss out homilies full of “I want” and “my children should get” and “you will see Me” and it is Bush’s fault?

Send a child to do a grown-up’s job, don’t be surprised at the result.

America begged Bush to keep it safe, then boo-hood like little babies when he used tough measures to do so.

If America was hated and feared during Bush, it is hated and laughed at during the TOTUS-reading fuhrer.
