Congressman blames Bush for Chicago's Olympics defeat (Rep. Bobby Rush D-IL)
The Hill ^ | October 4, 2009 | Michael O'Brien

EXCERPT

"I believe that [Friday]'s action is just the latest example of the cultural breach that still exists between the United States and several leaders of the global community of nations," Rush said in a statement Friday which was not received by The Hill until Sunday.

"[Friday}'s vote by the IOC members reflects the tattered relationships that remain after eight years of the catastrophic reign of the Bush administration," Rush continued. "It will obviously take some time for the Obama administration to continue its important work to repair that breach."

Wow,really? And silly me thought it was all the crime, like Derion Albert for instance, getting his brains bashed in with a board by some thug.

I`m sure the IOC wouldn`t mind having to inform a family back home that their loved one got the Derion treatment too.

I believe Roland Burris said the same thing. Must be the Chicago politicians party line.
What’s the big deal, anyway? I thought they wanted the US to be just another nation. So - OK, fine. Live with it.

Isn’t this the Bobbie Rush, (supposedly former) leftist criminal? Who introduced a bill to [effectively] take away all guns?

Any idea why a commie would want to take all of our guns away?

I didn’t, but as a nation we complied with the Obama demand to elect him so the rest of the world would love us again.

I don’t know about anyone else, but I saw a whole lot of love coming out of that IOC decision. Didn’t everyone...

Obama couldn’t reach Bush’s shoe laces, and Bush wasn’t a real prize either. That’s how low we have become.

Obama is the worlds laughing stock at this moment. They can spin it any way they like, when the buffoon is off U.S. soil, that spin stops and reality sets in.

The U.S. loses as a result. When Obama is shown to be the child he is, who really loses? You and I do folks. Our nation does.

Come on November 2010, better yet January 2011.

“It will obviously take some time for the Obama administration to continue its important work to repair that breach.”

Sorry...nine months into the mad march to marxism is plenty long enough for the 0bamunists to drop the notion that everything bad is Bush’s fault. We’re not buying it, anymore.

It’s time to take back the country.

I’d say that there was never any doubt that it would come to this. Rio didn’t have anything to do with it.

The people of Ill. need a Sarah Palin, to come in their and clean up that cesspool they call a govt. Come to think of it, several states could use one.

Perhaps we need “Help Wanted” signs on the borders of those states. Surely many who have served and honored their country in any number of ways would be willing to serve again, and help us clean up these places. But they will have to be willing and able to reach the masses with a positive honest message that would get them the votes.

In 1968 Rush went AWOL from the U.S. Army, co-founded the state's Black Panther Party and later was honorably discharged.

He went AWOL yet got an Honorable Discharge?...

He also highlighted the reception that Rep. Bobby Rush, D-Ill., has planned Thursday evening with African ambassadors.

“These 17 African nations are really the swing votes” with the IOC, Daley said.

There are more than a dozen IOC members from Africa, and they are a special focus for the Chicago bid because they are thought not to have an allegiance to any of the rival cities. To that end, key members of Congress — including Illinois’ Bobby Rush , whose district takes in proposed Olympic venues — hosted a reception Thursday for Africa’s ambassadors to the U.S. “I think they were wooed,” said Jarrett, who attended the gathering.
