WASHINGTON — President Barack Obama will focus "at the right time" on how to overturn the "don't ask, don't tell" ban on gays serving openly in the military, his national security adviser said Sunday.
"I don't think it's going to be — it's not years, but I think it will be teed up appropriately," James Jones said.
The Democratic-led Congress is considering repealing the 1993 law. Action isn't expected on the issue until early next year.

The Obozo hasn’t accomplished ANYTHING other than driving us into unsustainable debt and destroying the economy in doing so. If homosexuals think he’s going to do anything for them with “don’t ask, don’t tell,” they’ve got a long wait, and this is one time I’m glad he’s an incompetent boob.
Obama kept gays quiet during the campaign by pretending he would repeal DOMA. Same thing he did about the mandate in health care. He promised not to implement one, but now supports one.
Right time = when he gets in to trouble elsewhere so as he can divert attention.

Many commanders have already said they would retire or quit if the policy is overturned. Look for the lower ranks to follow them right out the door.
I’d like to know the number of other active and retired four-star generals in favor of overturning “don’t ask, don’t tell.”

I thought The Army Times had a poll about a year ago that had it 10% total would leave immediately and another 10% would so consider.
