The Puzzling Case of "American Police Force Inc"
http://ace.mu.nu/archives/293195.php ^

Posted on 10/04/2009 3:55:30 PM PDT by ps2

An odd story is developing out in the tiny city of Hardin, Montana. A private security company has taken over a jail and seems intent on creating a police department there.

American Police Force, a little known company which claims to specialize in training military and security forces overseas, has seemingly taken control of a $27 million, never-used jail, and a rural Montana town’s nonexistent police force. After arriving in this tiny city with three Mercedes SUVs marked with the logo of a police department that has never existed, representatives of the obscure California security company said preparations were under way to take over Hardin’s jail, which has no prisoners. AFP’s group’s website boasts that they “successfully provided assistance in training foreign military organizations in combating transnational terrorism” and claims that it’s “recognized as one of the top security and investigation forces in the world.” Too bad no one’s ever heard of them — not even the U.S. government, a group with which AFP claims to have worked. Their lawyer, Maziar Mafi, a malpractice expert how was hired a month ago, offers few details, other than that it’s a satellite of a larger security firm.

This is where they’re moving the Gitmo prisoners. Why has no one put this together? It’s on the town’s wikipedia page for crying out loud.

This should be investigated....sounds close to being a
“private” special force.....Just like private jails, such private police forces could be created. Owing their loyalties to whom?

This should be investigated

That usually starts with someone noticing something is wrong and reporting it. Has this been done yet? If not then there's where you start.

And yet, liberals were constantly whining about Bush taking away their civil rights. Yet, who is it that flatly stated he was going to create a civilian security force? And now seems to be about doing it? Hmmmm ... starts with an O.

This reminds me of the “it” campaign. “It”
will change the world.

“It” will wear black bullet proof stuff and take over your town... until one of the local morons takes a 2020 and blows the left... then the right testical off of said “it”.

California Attorney Cuts Ties to APF - Hardin Jail Project
October 2, 2009...

...

Santa Ana attorney Maziar Mafi had served as the legal affairs director for American Police Force http://www.americanpolicegroup.com/ . His departure follows revelations earlier in the week that the company’s lead figure — Michael Hilton — is a convicted felon with a history of fraud and failed business dealings in California.

“By December, 1863, the citizens of Bannack and Virginia City had had enough of the violence. Men from Bannack, Virginia City and nearby Nevada City met secretly and organized the Montana Vigilantes. Masked men began to visit suspected outlaws in the middle of the night issuing warnings and tacking up posters featuring a skull-and-crossbones or the “mystic” numbers “3-7-77.” While the meaning of these numbers remains elusive, the Montana State Highway patrolmen wear the emblem “3-7-77” on their shoulder patches today. “

“n addition to its reputation for gold, Bannack also quickly gained a reputation for lawlessness. The roads in and out of town were home to dozens of road agents, and killings were frequent. In January, 1863, Henry Plummer arrived in Bannack and just months later was elected sheriff in hopes that he might bring some peace to the lawless settlement. What was not known by the citizens of Bannack, was that Plummer was the leader of the largest gang of the area road agents. “

Not so mystic.
3 = 3 feet wide
7 = 7 feet deep
77 = 77 inches long

The dimensions of grave.

The AG for Montana does. It looks like the town built a prison with the idea of bringing in prisoners from other juridictions. The town then contracted out operation of the prison to this company which makes even fly by night companies look trusworthy.

The crackpots that run the company showed up in Mercedes SUVs with police branding for a town that doesn't have a police force. To make is even more obvious the company crest has a double headed eagle.

I can't believe even a small town council was taken in by these group of crooks.

I travel through Hardin 2 -3 times a year and will be through there in two weeks. Were I to be stopped by some shag bag outfit like this, there would be blood on the ground. With a little luck, the blood would not be mine.
