Some Chicago officials say anti-American resentment likely played a role in Chicago's Olympic bid dying in the first round Friday.
President Obama could not undo in one year the resentment against America that President Bush and others built up for years, they said.
"There must be" resentment against America, the Rev. Jesse Jackson said, near the stage where he had hoped to give a victory speech in Daley Center Plaza. "The way we [refused to sign] the Kyoto Treaty, we misled the world into Iraq. The world had a very bad taste in its mouth about us. But there was such a turnaround after last November. The world now feels better about America and about Americans.

He put it at the bottom of his in basket when the US Senate, with a vote of 99-0, warned the president not to even bother sending it to them because it would destroy the US economy. Bush simply moved the Treaty from the bottom of the Clinton in-basket and to the Oval Office trash basket.
Earth to Orbiter, Clinton sent a “sense of the Senate” bill to see how Kyoto might fare, and all the senators, your uncle included, indicated that they would not vote in favor of the treaty. Orbiter, is your radio on?

I saw a clip of Sen Roland Burris D, Ill say this exact thing on Friday after the bad news came down. He said George Bush’s policies caused the decline of America and nobody wanted to come here because of it. On his last day in office, President Clinton issued an Executive Order reducing the amount of Cyanide allowed in public drinking water to a ridiculous minuscule level that would have Bankrupted many small local Water Agencies.
The allowable level before Clinton made the change had no adverse effects to anyone consuming the water, but the Leftist Envirowacks were thrilled.
When President Bush took office, he reviewed the impact of Clinton's action and reversed it. Wanna guess what happened?
Well, Terry McCauliff, the head of the DNC at the time, got on TV and said that President Bush wanted to poison his, and everyone elses children when he reversed the Clinton Order.
Did anyone question Terry's outrageous attack on President Bush or ask him why Clinton would wait until his last day in office to make the change when he could have done it years before? Of course not. It didn't fit the agenda. Clinton only did it to trap President Bush.
