We've received many requests from freepers requesting that other freepers not post to them. There are several problems with this.
1. It's impossible for us to enforce.
2. We don't have the time to enforce these requests.
3. We don't have the software to keep track of these requests.
4. Thick skin helps.
5. Ignore the poster, if you don't reply, they won't reply.
Free Republic does not need a bozo filter, bozo filters are for wimps.
Final note: Trolls, troublemakers, disruptors, forum pests, malcontents, RINOs, liberals, stalkers, et al, would continue posting to (harassing) someone after being asked to stop. Conservative FReepers would not.

Reminds me of the "Mommy, he hit me" complainers when I was a kid. Speaking of which, we have an unwritten rule. Do not throw rocks at bullies and cry to mommy and daddy when they throw some back.

Free Republic does not need a bozo filter, bozo filters are for wimps.I have tried a bozo filter. The grounds went right through it and the big tuft of red hair was a pain to push into the that plastic cup thing. The coffee was awful. I don't recommend it.

There’s nothing wrong with providing software with ‘ignore’ capabilities. The ‘get some thick skin’ nonsense is a Mickey Mouse way of saying ‘we don’t know how to do it’. There should be a way to filter (or block) posters that I don’t want to hear from. If it takes an extra Freepathon to pay for it, so be it. This is the 21st century, stop making it sound like putting up with a few persistant assholes is some kind of noble exercise. It is not.

I haven’t seen much of any poster stalkers, but I do know several thread stalkers off the top of my head. When certain articles are posted this little posse shows up like clockwork.

I am NOT certain its humblegunner but a regular will throw out things like this - On a Limbaugh thread: “Is that blowhard still alive?” ... A Beck thread: “How can you understand him in between the tears?” ... etc. If you really need a stalker or two just hit a religion thread and claim G-d’s never done anything for me ... “ - Get the idea? You may not gain any friends but you’ll have plenty of people to talk to ... the rest is up to you. ;-)
