Below is audio and a partial transcript of Kevin Jennings', President Obama's safe school czar, thoughts on keeping the Boy Scouts out of the public school system. This is from a 2000 speaking engagement with his former organization the Gay Lesbian Straight Education Network (GLSEN) in Iowa. In the same speech, Mr. Jennings also advocated for mandating a gay friendly curriculum in the public schools from kindergarten onward.

...and this is why we need to rid ourselves of public schools in the first place so people like this do not have a public forum to try and control the rest of us through the coercive force of taxation by government.

This is a great example of why I didn’t like GWB. When the Republicans had the chance to do something, and should have been dismantling Federal intrusions into education GWB instead implemented No Child Left Behind, and simply increased the power grab by Washington. And now we have to watch these appointments and fear what our left wing overlords are now going to do to the schools. And the Republicans can’t even realistically protest, assuming they would want to, since they were all foaming at the mouth to pass NCLB and prove how important “education” is to them come the next election cycle.

And this afternoon on of our Scouts is working on his Eagle project at, and for the benefit of, a local PUBLIC high school. What would dear Mr Jenninings say about that?
About 3 years ago the BSA dropped all public schools as chartering organizations. What that means is that at this point no one at any public school has any official connection to any BSA unit - Pack, Troop, Crew, Ship or Team. However, the units (such as my own) can still use school facilities for meeting space, etc., and can still (subject to the local school regulations) solicit membership at the school through personal appearances or through literature distributed at the schools.
Something that this guy would probably love to stop as well. However, he can’t, due to provisions that were put into the Leave No Child Behind act. It forbids schools from discriminating against youth organizations based on their membership criteria at the risk of losing federal funds.
And remember, the reason that Obama and Jennings is hate the Boy Scouts will not allow NAMBLA pedophiles access to young boys!
Our unit is exclusively home-schooled boys and girls.

We have cubs, Boy Scouts, Adventurers and our own invention, “Sisters of Scouting”. Nobody has aged out without making Eagle.
