Frontpage Mag ^ | Oct 7 | Robert Spencer

Posted on 10/07/2009 12:07:00 PM PDT by chuck_the_tv_out

Frontpage Interview’s guest today is Robert Spencer, the director of Jihad Watch, a program of the David Horowitz Freedom Center. He is the author of nine books on Islam and Jihad, a weekly columnist for Human Events and Frontpagemag.com, and has led numerous seminars for the U.S. military and intelligence communities. He is the author of the new book, The Complete Infidel’s Guide to the Koran.

FP: Robert Spencer, welcome to Frontpage Interview.

Spencer: Thanks, Jamie. It is always an honor to chat with a perceptive and honest thinker like you.

FP: Well thank you.

So how is this new book different from your previous ones?

Spencer: While in my other books I’ve quoted from the Koran in explaining various aspects of the jihad doctrine and Islamic supremacism, this book is unique among my books in being an in-depth examination of the Koran itself. In this book, and in none of my other books, I discuss how the Koran was compiled; alternate versions of the Koran; alleged miracles of the Koran; how the Koran adapts and alters Biblical stories such as those of Adam, Noah, Moses, Solomon, Mary and Jesus; the Koranic appropriation of Jewish, Christian and even pagan figures; the foundations of Islamic mysticism in the Koran; the ways in which seemingly innocuous passages of the Koran actually convey meanings quite different from what may appear to non-Muslim Westerners; how the Koran’s stories of the Biblical prophets are all told in a way meant to support Muhammad’s prophetic claim; why Muslims regard the Jews as their worst enemies; how and why the New Testament accounts of Christ are altered in the Koran; the Koran’s moral code and what it is conspicuously lacking; and much more.

FP: How come there is so much ignorance about the Koran, not only

“FP: How come there is so much ignorance about the Koran”

Not much call for the KKK manifesto either.

The big difference between Christianity and Islam is that Christianity went through numerous periods of introspection including the Reformation and Enlightenment. Islam stopped all such introspection in about the 16th century and even pushed back their theology to about its 6th century roots. While Christianity developed tolerance for non Christians and an understanding of God given rights of the individual to liberty and justice, Islam has not taken that direction.

True, and a huge part of that is that Mohammed was a general first, and a prophet second. I believe he created the religion as a device to maintain discipline among his troops and inspire them to fight without regard to their own lives.

The most important thing you need to know is that the Koran denies the crucifixion of Christ straight out. It says Jesus was not crucified, that God took him straight up to heaven to protect him from the plot of the Jews.

Peter once denied the crucifixion of Christ...Jesus had an interesting rebuke - not aimed at Peter.

That tells you everything you need to know about Islam.

And the whole thing about “convert or kill”. And that lying is fine to promote it.

Here is an outline of some stuff:

“Men take authority over women... As for those who are disobedient, admonish them and send them to beds apart and beat them.” (Surah 4:34)

“Fight against such as those to whom the Scriptures were given [Jews and Christians]...until they pay tribute out of hand and are utterly subdued.” (Surah 9:29)

“Muhammad is God’s apostle. Those who follow him are ruthless to the unbelievers [non-moslims] but merciful to one another.” (Surah 48:29)

“It is not for any Prophet to have captives until he has made slaughter in the land.” (Surah 8:67)

“When the sacred months are over, slay the idolaters [non-moslims] wherever you find them. Arrest them, besiege them, and lie in ambush everywhere for them.” (Surah 9:5)

“Believers! Know that idolators [non-moslims] are unclean.” (Surah 9:28)

“If you fear treachery from any of your allies, you may fairly retaliate by breaking off your treaty with them.” (Surah 9:12)

(Arabs have the word “hudna”. The Enemedia translates it “peace”. But it is more subtle, meaning “a temporary truce for the purpose of rearming”. Where we speak of “the Oslo Peace Accord”, in Arab media, they call it “the Oslo Hudna Accord”)

“Believers, take neither Jews nor Christians for your friends.” (Surah 5:51)

“Fight unbelievers [non-moslims] who are near to you.” (Surah 9:123)

“As for the man who steals and the woman who steals, cut off their hands as punishment for what they have earned, an exemplary punishment from Allah.” (Surah 5:38)

“Unbelievers [non-moslims] are enemies of Allah and they will roast in hell.” (Surah 41:14)

“The Day of Resurrection will not arrive until the Moslims make war against the Jews and kill them, and until a Jew hiding behind a rock and tree, and the rock and tree will say: ‘Oh Moslem, oh servant of Allah, there is a Jew behind me, come and kill him!’” (Sahih Bukhari 004.52.176)

“Unbelievers [non-moslims] are those who say: ‘God is one of three.’ There is but one God. If they do not desist from so saying, those of them that disbelieve shall be sternly punished.” (Surah 5:73)

“The Christians say: The Christ is the son of Allah; these are the words of their mouths; they imitate the saying of those who disbelieved before; may Allah destroy them.” (Sura 9:30)

“The unbelievers [non-moslims] are the firewood of hell.” (Surah 72:15)

“When you meet the unbelievers [non-moslims], smite their necks, then when you have made wide slaughter among them, tie fast the bonds, then set them free, either by grace or ransom, until the war lays down its burdens.” (Surah 47:4)

“Prophet make war on the unbelievers [non-moslims] and the hypocrites [non-literalist moslims] and deal rigorously with them. Hell shall be their home.” (Surah 9:73)
