Famed attorney Gloria Allred has written an open letter to David Letterman in wake of the sex scandal that continues to dog him. Her letter appears exclusively here on RadarOnline.com.
Dear Dave,
Last week you admitted that you had sex with women on your staff. Many in your audience laughed when you said it. I for one was not laughing
Let's call it what it really was - sexual favoritism in the workplace and since you suggested that you had sex with more than one woman on your staff some of your employees may believe that sexual favoritism in your workplace is widespread.
If this is true, then I believe that your sexual conduct is wrong and potentially in violation of the law even if your sexual relationship with your staffers was consensual and romantic.
By the way, we do not know yet if your sexual advances to your subordinates were welcomed by them or unwelcome. Even if no complaints were filed, that does not mean that your sexual conduct was welcome.
Even if it was welcome, what about the impact of your sexual favoritism on other staff members with whom you did not have a sexual relationship?
The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (E.E.O.C.) Has stated that in circumstances where sexual favoritism is widespread, "a message is implicitly conveyed that the managers view women as sexual playthings thereby creating an atmosphere that is demeaning to women."
You said "I'm terribly sorry that I put the staff in that position" I'm sorry too Dave. I'm sorry that you didn't appear to recognize that your conduct was more than "something stupid". I'm sorry that you do not appear to recognize that it may have been a denial of equal employment opportunity and a denial of the right of women to have a workplace that is not hostile because of sexual harassment. Next time just say "No" to sex on the job Dave. Your wife, your staff and I will appreciate it.

I consider Letterman a worthless bum, but compared to Allred, he looks like a very admirable fellow.

Gloria is a disgusting attention whore. If she’d been working on Letterman’s staff, she’d have been elbowing her way past the other girls to get into Dave’s bed.
Funny, my wife and I had a similar discussion about Dave’s possible sexual harassment in this instance. Even stranger was that I was the one taking the woman’s case over her (”Well, it was consensual, wasn’t it?”).

Letterman is not in trouble. Not even a little bit. This will just spike his ratings a bit, and bring waves of job applications from very well-qualified female media professionals who are eager for a chance to get laid by Letterman (since there’s no correlation between qualification and self-respect). The only person in trouble is the guy who tried to blackmail Letterman by threatening to tell all. He got arrested and is in serious trouble with the law.

I think that the only possible appropriate response is a court order requiring Letterman to sleep with EVERYBODY on his staff.

He hadn’t told his stage staff. They didn’t know what he was going to say, so they were lighting up the “applause,” and, “laughter,” signs. I don’t think they realized it wasn’t a joke at first.

When this stuff is going on with the boss, it is a nasty atmosphere and the women who are not interested or do not get that sort of attention, feel resentment as the gal he is sleeping with gets opportunities they do not (such as the two skits he used her for etc.) while they are busy working hard doing their job.

Maybe these women either have low opinions of themselves in spite of decades of feminist esteem building schools, or maybe they saw a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. How about holding them accountable?

Wrong. This is not an environment that women or men should be subjected to. It appears that if women on the show wanted to get promoted then they had to sleep with Letterman.

You bring up a good point, that I as a woman can't fulling take in. What must it be like for the men that also work in this situation? Men? Thoughts? Input?
That idiot Hannity is getting pretty close with his unending schtick about his interns upcoming wedding. Asking her friend (on air ) about the batchelorette party , and questions about undergarment wedding gifts.. I have heard him do this before with other young female callers . He is amused , some find the old man young girl thing creepy .
I have to turn him off much of the time if my kid is in the car. None of the other talk show hosts - just Hannity.
His strong suit is good guests, which few of the other hosts attempt. He does best when he sticks to the subject and keeps himself the hell out of it.

I am not a woman but if I were a young woman that got a job ona TV show out of college it would sound great. His approaches appears to be a bit more subtle but they said the entire staff knew the score. Horrible enviroment to work under. It is wrong.
